What makes the SNR047 a limited edition?
Seiko’s product page specifies an edition of 500 pieces and says the see-through, screw-down caseback carries a limited-edition marking and serial number. The number matters, but it does not establish how many watches are currently available for sale or what one is worth on the secondary market. Seiko’s launch information dates availability to June 2020. Its Australian announcement listed a recommended retail price of A$8,800 and marked the model sold out at that time; those are historical Australian launch details, not a current price or proof of availability elsewhere. Which Porco Rosso watch is the SNR047?
The SNR047 is the collaboration’s Spring Drive watch, powered by Caliber 5R65. It is not the SRQ033 automatic chronograph, which Seiko lists separately. The distinction is useful when checking a listing: the SNR047 has a date and power-reserve indicator, while the SRQ033 is the chronograph model.

Seiko says the enamel dial takes inspiration from the instrument panel of Porco Rosso’s aircraft. The “R” emblem at six o’clock, red seconds hand and green power-reserve indicator echo details associated with the Savoia S-21. The crown is engraved with the Porco Rosso emblem, and the plane’s name appears on the case.
The presentation box includes an additional strap and a leather cloth, as well as a message from director Hayao Miyazaki. Seiko describes the two strap colors as red, recalling the aircraft’s fuselage, and black; both use red, white and green stitching. The limited-edition designation alone cannot authenticate a particular watch or establish its asking price. Seiko’s official pages document the model and its specifications, but they do not establish current stock, current resale values or the authenticity of any individual secondary-market listing.
