Seven specific alternatives have model-level support in the cited comparison below. Three additional directions are included separately because the available evidence does not verify an exact current reference or all its functions.
A useful benchmark is the GMT-Master II’s traveler-GMT mechanism: its local hour hand jumps in one-hour increments while reference time remains set. Rolex describes calibre 3285 as displaying local time in 12-hour format and a second time zone in 24-hour format (Rolex GMT-Master II features). WatchTime describes the current stainless-steel 126710 as 40 mm, water-resistant to 100 m and offering approximately 70 hours of power reserve (WatchTime’s comparison).
How to compare GMT-Master II alternatives
“GMT” on a dial does not guarantee the same travel function. A traveler GMT lets you adjust local time in one-hour steps without resetting the reference-time display, which is especially useful after a flight. Other dual-time layouts may display a second zone without offering that adjustment. A rotating 24-hour bezel can make a third time-zone reading possible when used with the GMT hand; the Citizen, Norqain and Rolex descriptions explicitly identify that use.
- Movement: Check whether local time jumps independently, or whether the watch uses a different dual-time arrangement.
- Size and water resistance: The alternatives range from 39 mm cases to a 43.5 mm, 600 m-rated diver. Published ratings are specifications, not independent water-resistance test results.
- Display and bezel: A two-colour external bezel is not universal. The Fortis uses an internal dial ring and has no rotating bezel; the Vacheron Constantin distinguishes its second zone with a day/night indicator.
- Price: WatchTime’s approximate figures are article-era US estimates, not current quotes. Longines’ live US collection page is the source for the displayed prices noted below.
Seven specific alternatives with model-level support

1. Citizen Series 8 880 Mechanical GMT (NB6030-59L)
A comparatively accessible choice with a true traveler-GMT function. WatchTime lists a 41 mm steel case, automatic calibre 9054, 50-hour power reserve and 100 m water resistance. Its bidirectional 24-hour bezel and GMT hand can be used to track a third time zone. WatchTime also reports independently adjustable local-hour operation and a regulation figure of −10/+20 seconds per day; that accuracy figure is a stated specification, not a test result here. The comparison gives an approximate US price of $1,400.
Check the exact reference before purchase: a neighboring passage in WatchTime’s article varies the reference, while its specification line identifies NB6030-59L.
2. Longines Spirit Zulu Time 39 mm
A compact traveler-GMT option in a 39 mm case. For reference L3.802.4.53.6, WatchTime lists calibre L844.4, a 72-hour power reserve and 100 m water resistance. It says the local hour adjusts independently and the date follows local time in both directions. WatchTime’s approximate article-era US price is $4,000.
For a current US price check, Longines’ official GMT collection displayed Spirit Zulu Time 39 mm versions at $3,450 and $3,550 on October 8, 2026, alongside other variants. Those are page-listed prices, not a promise of availability or a price for every reference.
3. Norqain Adventure Neverest GMT Glacier (N1100.22B02.B01)
This 41 mm steel watch takes a more assertive approach, with black DLC coating, a rubber strap and a textured Glacier dial. WatchTime reports a traveler-GMT movement, calibre NN20/2 developed with Kenissi, COSC certification, a 70-hour power reserve and 100 m water resistance. Its bidirectional ceramic bezel can support a third-zone reading. The comparison’s approximate US price is $5,100.
4. Tudor Black Bay 58 GMT (M7939G1A0NRU-0003)
At 39 mm, this is one of the smaller named choices. WatchTime reports an independently adjustable local hour, calibre MT5450-U, a 65-hour power reserve, 200 m water resistance and METAS Master Chronometer certification. Its black-and-burgundy 24-hour bezel has an anodized aluminum insert rather than ceramic, a material and design distinction to weigh against your preferences. The approximate article-era US price is $6,000.
5. Fortis Vagabond V-40 (F6660002)
A 40 mm Grade 5 titanium option that avoids the conventional rotating-bezel look: its 24-hour ring sits on the dial. WatchTime reports the Kenissi-collaboration Werk 13 movement, a jumping local-hour hand, date adjustment in either direction, a 70-hour power reserve, chronometer certification and 200 m water resistance. Its approximate US price in the comparison is $8,000.

6. Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean 600M GMT (215.30.44.22.01.001)
For a buyer prioritizing dive-watch water resistance, WatchTime lists a traveler-GMT calibre 8906, METAS Master Chronometer certification, a 60-hour power reserve and a stated 600 m water resistance. It also has a helium escape valve. The trade-off is substantial size: the reported case is 43.5 mm across and more than 17 mm thick, so it is not a compact, like-for-like substitute for the 40 mm Rolex reference. WatchTime’s approximate US price is $11,000.

7. Vacheron Constantin Overseas Dual Time (7920V/210A-B334)
This is a high-horology direction rather than a close visual copy. WatchTime reports a 41 mm steel case, 12 mm thickness, 150 m water resistance and a 60-hour power reserve. Its traveler-GMT caliber adjusts local time independently, while a day/night indicator distinguishes the second zone instead of a 24-hour scale. Bracelet, rubber and calfskin strap options use a tool-free quick-change system. The comparison’s approximate US price is $41,000.

These entries broaden the list to ten, but the available model-level evidence is less complete than for the seven watches above. Confirm the exact current reference and its functions with the manufacturer before treating one as a direct recommendation.
8. Longines HydroConquest GMT 41 mm
Longines’ official US GMT collection lists 41 mm automatic HydroConquest GMT watches with steel and ceramic bezels; displayed prices on the page accessed October 8, 2026, include $3,150 and $3,350. The collection listing establishes that these models appear in the US GMT range, but does not by itself establish the local-hour adjustment mechanism for each reference. Check the exact product page if traveler-GMT operation is essential.
9. Grand Seiko Spring Drive GMT
Grand Seiko’s official Sport collection describes Spring Drive GMT functionality and says a rotating 24-hour bezel used with the GMT hand can indicate three time zones. The page does not identify one exact current reference or price, so verify both against the specific watch listing before comparing it with the named models above.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors10. Rolex Explorer II: a related Rolex, not an equivalent bezel layout
The Explorer II is a possible adjacent option for someone considering another Rolex with a second-time-zone display. The material available here does not establish its current reference specifications, so check Rolex’s current listing before relying on particular functions or dimensions. Most importantly, do not treat it as equivalent to the GMT-Master II’s rotating-bezel arrangement without confirming the display and explaining that distinction.
Quick Recap
Which one fits your priorities?
- For a traveler GMT in a 39 mm case: Compare the Longines Spirit Zulu Time and Tudor Black Bay 58 GMT, then choose based on their different movement certifications, bezel materials and price points.
- For a lower cited entry price: The Citizen is the least expensive of WatchTime’s seven approximate estimates, but verify the exact reference and its current price.
- For higher stated water resistance: The Omega’s 600 m rating is the highest among the seven specific recommendations, paired with the largest reported case and thickness.
- For a less conventional bezel design: Consider the Fortis’ dial-mounted 24-hour ring or the Vacheron Constantin’s day/night second-zone indicator.
- For a third time-zone reading: Prioritize a rotating 24-hour bezel and verify that its relationship to the GMT hand supports the reading you want.
