Which Traska should you choose?
Choose the Commuter for a quiet everyday watch
Traska positions the Commuter as a “go anywhere and do anything” watch. Its three case sizes make it the most flexible choice for shoppers who are deciding primarily by wrist presence: the 34mm version is the smallest option in this guide, while the 38mm version gives a more substantial look without moving into dive-watch proportions.
The collection page specifies sapphire crystal, a screw-down crown, 100m water resistance and the brand’s steel-hardening treatment. Those are useful everyday credentials on paper, but they do not substitute for independent testing of impact resistance, sealing or long-term accuracy. See the current Commuter collection for available references and prices.
Choose the Summiteer for field-watch character
The Summiteer is Traska’s “classic field watch” option. It keeps the concept simpler than the Freediver or GMT, making it a natural fit if you want legibility and outdoor styling without a rotating dive bezel or travel complication.

The current collection offers two sizes and lists 100m water resistance. Traska’s model history explains that later generations introduced updated lume, anti-reflective coating and quick-release spring bars. Because references and generations can differ, check the exact product listing rather than assuming every older Summiteer has the newest equipment. The collection and history are documented at the Summiteer collection page and Summiteer reference points.
Choose the Freediver when dive-watch specifications matter
The current Freediver is reference 1187. It is the only family in this comparison with a clearly stated 200m rating, and it adds the hardware readers usually expect from a dive-watch format: a screw-down crown, a 120-click unidirectional bezel and a ceramic bezel insert.
The current-generation history also describes upgraded lume, added anti-reflective treatment and quick-release spring bars. Traska says the upgraded lume provides “52% more shine after 10 hours of darkness”; that is a manufacturer claim, not a standardized independent measurement. The 40mm case and full specifications are listed in the Freediver collection and Freediver reference points.

A 200m label should not be read as permission to use any individual watch for diving without checking its condition, seals, service history and the manufacturer’s instructions. Published water resistance is not an independent certification of a particular worn example.
Choose the Venturer GMT for travel between time zones
The Venturer GMT is the specialist choice for travelers. Traska describes it as a “traveler’s GMT” that displays two time zones. Instead of an external 24-hour bezel, it uses an internal bezel operated by the crown at 10 o’clock. That layout keeps the case profile visually clean while still providing a second-time indication.
Traska states that its hardened steel reaches 1200 HV on the Vickers scale. Treat that as a manufacturer claim rather than an independently measured result. The cited collection page does not establish a case size or water-resistance figure, so confirm those details for the exact reference before buying. Current models and pricing are at Venturer GMT.

What about the Chronograph and Seafarer?
Chronograph: listed, but not fully specified here
The official catalog displays a Chronograph family at $1,650 on the date noted above. The available material does not establish its case dimensions, water resistance, movement or control layout, so it should not be recommended on technical grounds alongside the better-documented four model families. Treat it as a current catalog lead and verify the live product page before purchase.
Seafarer: present in the catalog, less prominent in the overview
Seafarer products appear in Traska’s all-products catalog, but the collections overview does not feature Seafarer with the principal families. That mismatch means a guide calling the four families above Traska’s complete range would be too broad. Check the live catalog for current Seafarer references and specifications.
How to narrow your choice
- Start with the job. Everyday office and casual wear point to Commuter; field styling to Summiteer; timing water activity to Freediver; frequent time-zone changes to Venturer GMT.
- Set your size limit. Commuter spans the smallest and broadest size range in this guide, Summiteer stays in the two mid-size options, and Freediver is offered as a single 40mm format. Try to confirm lug-to-lug dimensions and strap fit for the exact reference, since those measurements are not supplied uniformly on the cited pages.
- Decide whether you need a complication. Commuter, Summiteer and Freediver are straightforward time displays with their respective design features. The Venturer GMT adds a second time-zone display and internal bezel; do not pay for that function unless you will use it.
- Check the exact generation. Summiteer and Freediver histories describe changes across generations, including lume, anti-reflective treatment and spring bars. Product photos and reference numbers matter more than a family name alone.
- Verify the live listing and seller. Prices, inventory and specifications can change. Traska says it does not yet have its own boutique and lists in-person appearances on TRASKA on Tour. Marketplace availability, including Amazon inventory, is not established by the information here.
What the published information does—and does not—tell you
- It documents Traska’s intended positioning, listed dimensions, water-resistance figures, complications, generation changes and displayed prices.
- It does not compare movements, measure timekeeping, test scratch or impact resistance, assess bracelet comfort, establish service costs or predict resale value.
- Hardening figures, lume improvements and other performance statements remain vendor claims unless independently tested.
- Water-resistance numbers describe the manufacturer’s specification; they do not guarantee the condition of a particular watch after wear, impact or aging seals.
Bottom line
For most buyers, the decision is easiest when framed by use rather than a universal ranking: Commuter for restrained daily wear, Summiteer for a field-watch look, Freediver for the strongest stated water-resistance and dive hardware, and Venturer GMT for genuine dual-time travel utility. The Chronograph and Seafarer deserve separate verification because Traska’s own pages provide less consistent coverage of their current roles and specifications.
