The fastest way to find a lost Samsung Galaxy Watch is to open Samsung Find or SmartThings Find, select the watch, and check its map position, timestamp, battery level, and connection status. If the watch is powered on and reachable through Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, or LTE, you may also be able to make it ring or vibrate. If it is offline or dead, you may see only its last known location.
Try this first
- Open Samsung Find on your phone.
- Open the Devices tab and select your Galaxy Watch.
- Check the map, location timestamp, battery level, and connection information.
- Tap Refresh if the location may be out of date.
- If the watch is probably nearby, tap Ring or Vibrate, depending on the options shown.
Samsung’s current device-finding tools overlap. Depending on your phone, watch, software version, carrier, and region, the same controls may instead appear in SmartThings or under Galaxy Wearable. Samsung’s current instructions are available in its Galaxy Watch support guide.

Find the watch from your phone
Samsung Find
Open Samsung Find, choose Devices, and select the watch. Review the timestamp before relying on the map. Use Refresh to request a newer report and Ring when the watch should be within reach.
On some Galaxy phones, you can also reach the service through Settings → your Samsung account name → Samsung Find. Samsung changes menu layouts between devices and software releases, so the standalone app or website may be easier to locate.

SmartThings Find
If Samsung Find is unavailable, open SmartThings → Life → Find, then select the watch from the device list or map. Available controls may include Refresh, Ring, Navigate, and Notify when it’s found. Samsung documents this route in its SmartThings Find guide.
Galaxy Wearable
Open Galaxy Wearable and look for Find My Watch. On newer phones, this may simply redirect you to Samsung Find or SmartThings Find. Select the watch there and use the available locating or protection controls. The exact label can also appear as Track location, Lost mode, Reset, or Erase data.

When will Ring work?
Remote ringing is not a universal anywhere-to-anywhere feature. The watch generally needs to be powered on and reachable through one of these connections:
- Bluetooth to the paired phone;
- Wi-Fi; or
- an active LTE/mobile-data connection on a supported, connected LTE model.
The alert may be sound, vibration, or both, depending on the model and interface. A powered-off, dead, or disconnected watch may not respond even when the Ring button is visible.
Bluetooth-only watches depend more heavily on the paired phone or a known Wi-Fi connection. An LTE watch may remain reachable away from the phone only when its mobile service is active and the watch can connect to the network. Samsung’s regional guidance explains these connection requirements here.

If the watch is nearby but will not ring
- Check the displayed battery level and the timestamp.
- Tap Refresh, then try Ring again.
- Walk around the last known area with the phone, especially if Bluetooth range may be marginal.
- Search places that muffle sound or hide a small watch: sofa cushions, bedding, laundry baskets, coat pockets, bags, vehicle seats, bathroom counters, and charging spots.
- Try Vibrate if that option is available.
- Look for the charger and band separately; the watch may have been removed before it was misplaced.
If the battery is empty, no repeated refresh or ring request can make the watch respond. Move on to the last known location and retrace where it was worn, removed, or charged.
What the map location really means
A map pin is not necessarily a live GPS position. Check its timestamp and treat it as either a current report or a last reported location. A position near your home may represent the last time the watch communicated with your phone or network, not the exact place where it is now.
If the watch moved after its last connection, the map will not follow it. Refreshing repeatedly cannot create a new report from a powered-off or unreachable device. Samsung says a powered-off device may expose only its last known location; see its SmartThings Find requirements.

Sometimes, but do not assume every Galaxy Watch supports the same offline behavior. On supported configurations, Samsung Find or SmartThings Find may use nearby participating Galaxy devices to help report a device’s location. This can work only if the relevant offline-finding feature was enabled before the loss, and the watch still has enough power. Model, phone, software version, and region all matter.

To review the setting for future losses, look in Samsung Find or SmartThings for More options → Settings → Allow devices to be found → Offline finding. Menu names vary, and enabling it after the watch has disappeared cannot retroactively make it findable. Samsung’s current instructions are at Allow devices to be found.
If the watch is dead or offline
- Use the last known location and its timestamp as your starting point.
- Turn on Notify me when it’s found, if the website offers it.
- Retrace the route from the last time you wore or charged the watch.
- Contact recent locations such as a gym, workplace, hotel, restaurant, taxi or rideshare, and public-transit lost-and-found office.
- Check whether the watch reconnects later after someone charges or finds it.
A dead watch cannot be made to ring. If it later powers on and reconnects, its location and controls may become available again.
If the watch does not appear in Samsung Find
- Confirm that you are signed in with the Samsung account used when the watch was paired.
- Check Galaxy Wearable to see whether the watch is still registered.
- Try Samsung Find, SmartThings Find, and the Find My Watch entry in Galaxy Wearable.
- Check whether device finding or Allow devices to be found was enabled before the loss.
- Refresh the device list. Sign out only after confirming that the account is correct.
- Consider whether the watch was factory-reset, removed from the account, sold, or paired with another account.
Finding support varies by model, phone, software version, carrier, and country. Samsung’s regional list includes examples ranging from the Galaxy Watch and Active models through Watch3, Watch4, Watch5, Watch6, Watch7, Watch8, and Watch Ultra, but that should not be treated as a universal worldwide compatibility list.

If the map points to an unfamiliar place
Do not trespass, enter private property, or confront anyone. A stale or approximate map position is not proof that the watch was stolen.

- Contact the venue, carrier, insurer, or local law enforcement as appropriate.
- Arrange recovery through the venue or authorities rather than attempting it yourself.
Samsung’s guidance specifically warns against personally retrieving a device shown in an unfamiliar or private location; its safety and recovery advice is covered here.
Lock, Lost mode, or erase?
| Action | Best use | Main limitation |
|---|---|---|
| Ring or Vibrate | The watch is probably nearby. | Requires power and a usable Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, or LTE connection. |
| Refresh | The watch may have moved or reconnected. | Cannot update a dead or unreachable device. |
| Lock or Lost mode | The watch may be stolen but still recoverable. | It does not guarantee recovery. |
| Erase data | Sensitive information is at risk and recovery is unlikely. | Erasing may reduce or end useful locating and recovery options. |
Lock first when you still want to recover the watch. A Galaxy Watch can contain notifications, health information, contacts, payment access, and other private data. Erase it when protecting that data is more important than continued recovery, after documenting the last known location and identifying details.
Information to record
Save the following for a police report, carrier request, insurance claim, or replacement:
- watch model and device name;
- serial number;
- IMEI for LTE models;
- associated phone number or mobile plan details;
- last known location and timestamp;
- purchase receipt or other proof of ownership.
Samsung Find may display model and IMEI information for supported devices. Do not publish those identifiers publicly.
Prevent the next loss
- Keep the watch associated with the correct Samsung account through Galaxy Wearable.
- Review Allow devices to be found and enable Offline finding when supported and appropriate.
- Turn on any available Notify when left behind feature.
- Keep Samsung account recovery details current.
- Record the model, serial number, and LTE IMEI while the watch is accessible.
These settings must generally be configured before the watch goes missing; they are not a guaranteed way to locate a device that is already dead, reset, or disconnected.
