Yes, Samsung Galaxy Buds2 Pro work with an iPhone through Bluetooth. You can use them for music, video, calls, and supported onboard touch controls without installing a Samsung app.
The important limitation is that Samsung does not provide iOS app support for the Buds2 Pro. The Galaxy Wearable compatibility guidance and the Samsung Galaxy Buds App Store listing make the distinction clear: pairing is possible, but full Samsung configuration and management are not available on iPhone.

Samsung describes the Buds2 Pro as usable with iPhone for Bluetooth streaming, calls, and touchpad controls, but its current iOS app support is limited to Galaxy Buds+ and Galaxy Buds Live. Do not confuse the app’s iPhone requirements for those two models with the requirements for basic Buds2 Pro Bluetooth pairing.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
What you need before pairing
- An iPhone with Bluetooth enabled.
- Both earbuds charged and seated correctly in the charging case.
- The case and earbuds close to the iPhone.
- Bluetooth temporarily disabled on any Samsung phone, tablet, computer, television, or other device that may already be using the earbuds.
The iPhone model or iOS version is not the main restriction here. The significant limitation is the absence of an official Buds2 Pro management app for iOS.

How to pair Galaxy Buds2 Pro with an iPhone
- Place both earbuds in the charging case.
- Close the lid for approximately five to six seconds.
- Open the case while leaving both earbuds inside.
- On the iPhone, open Settings → Bluetooth.
- Turn Bluetooth on if it is disabled.
- Wait for the Galaxy Buds2 Pro to appear under available devices.
- Tap the Buds2 Pro entry.
- Wait for the status to change to Connected.
Once connected, choose the Buds2 Pro from the iPhone’s playback or AirPlay audio-output control if sound does not switch automatically. Music, videos, and calls should then use the earbuds while they remain the active Bluetooth output.
If the Buds2 Pro do not appear
Put the earbuds into pairing mode manually:
- Place both earbuds in the open charging case.
- Touch and hold the touchpads on both earbuds at the same time.
- Continue holding until the case lights flash, indicating pairing mode.
- On the iPhone, open Settings → Bluetooth and select the Galaxy Buds2 Pro.
The earbuds must be making contact with the charging pins. If one earbud is not detected by the case, manual pairing may fail. The appearance of the Buds2 Pro in the iPhone’s Bluetooth list is a more useful confirmation than trying to interpret every LED pattern.
What works—and what does not—on iPhone
Available through Bluetooth
- Music and podcast playback.
- Audio from videos and other media.
- Phone calls and microphone input.
- Supported tap and touch-and-hold controls.
- Normal reconnection after the earbuds have been paired.
Touch controls may retain the assignments previously configured on the earbuds. Their exact behavior depends on the current configuration, so do not assume every gesture has its factory function. Without Samsung’s app on iOS, you cannot conveniently change the mapping from the iPhone.
Unavailable or limited
- Galaxy Wearable device settings.
- Official Samsung app-based equalizer and touch-control customization.
- Samsung software updates through the iPhone.
- Samsung’s full battery and device-management screens.
- Samsung-specific finding and management tools.
- Samsung gaming-related features, notifications, and Spotify integration identified as unavailable on iOS.
Active noise cancellation and Ambient Sound may still be switchable from the earbuds if the relevant touch-and-hold gesture is configured. However, you cannot rely on an iPhone Samsung app to configure those modes. If the Buds2 Pro were set up on a Galaxy device, saved behavior may carry over. To change it, use a compatible Android device with Galaxy Wearable.

Checking battery status
Do not expect Samsung’s complete in-app battery view on an iPhone. Depending on what the earbuds expose to iOS, you may see a Bluetooth accessory battery indicator or a value in the iPhone’s Batteries widget. You can also use the case and earbud indicator lights. These options are not a substitute for the unsupported Samsung app interface.
How to update Buds2 Pro firmware
An iPhone alone is not Samsung’s official update route for the Galaxy Buds2 Pro. Samsung states that Buds2 Pro updates are supported through Galaxy Wearable on a compatible Android phone or tablet, and through the Galaxy Buds PC app. Its iOS app supports firmware updates only for Buds+ and Buds Live. See Samsung’s update instructions and troubleshooting guidance for current software availability.
Update using Android
- Put both earbuds in the charging case and leave the lid open.
- Open Galaxy Wearable on a compatible phone or tablet.
- Tap Earbud settings.
- Tap Earbuds software update.
- Tap Download and install if an update is offered.
Update using a Windows PC
- Install and open Samsung’s Galaxy Buds PC app from the Microsoft Store, if available for your system.
- Place the earbuds in the case and open the lid.
- Choose Connect and approve the Bluetooth pairing prompt.
- Select Earbuds software update.
- Choose Download and install if Samsung offers an update.
App names and store availability can change. If you are preparing used Buds2 Pro for an iPhone owner, updating them first with compatible Android or PC software is sensible.
Switching between an iPhone and another device
The Buds2 Pro can remember multiple paired devices, but ordinary Bluetooth use does not keep them simultaneously connected or provide Apple-style seamless switching. “Paired” means a device remembers the earbuds; “connected” means it is currently routing audio to them.

The Buds2 Pro are missing from Bluetooth
- Check the charge of the case and both earbuds.
- Place both earbuds in the case, close the lid for five to six seconds, and reopen it.
- Turn iPhone Bluetooth off and on again from Settings → Bluetooth.
- Disable Bluetooth on nearby devices that previously used the earbuds.
- Use the manual pairing procedure above.
- Restart the iPhone and try again.
They appear but will not connect
- Tap the Buds2 Pro name again and move the iPhone closer to the case.
- Disconnect the earbuds from another device.
- In Settings → Bluetooth, tap the information button beside the old Buds2 Pro entry and choose Forget This Device; then pair again.
- Confirm both earbuds are seated correctly and charging.
- Restart the iPhone and earbuds.
Do not reset the earbuds as the first response to a device-switching problem. Samsung says a reset is generally unnecessary for connecting to another device.
Only one earbud works
- Put both earbuds in the case and confirm that both are charging.
- Close the lid for at least 10 seconds, then reopen it.
- Enter pairing mode again.
- Forget the iPhone Bluetooth entry and pair from scratch if needed.
If one earbud is still not detected or charged, the problem may be a charging-contact or hardware fault. Seek Samsung support rather than relying on an unverified manual reset sequence.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesAudio or calls use the iPhone instead
- Open the iPhone’s audio-output selector and choose Galaxy Buds2 Pro.
- During a call, tap the call audio control and select the Buds2 Pro.
- Confirm the earbuds show as connected before answering.
- Check whether another Bluetooth device has become the active output.
- Forget and re-pair the earbuds if the problem repeats.
Different calling apps can expose Bluetooth routing differently, so test with a normal phone call and a second calling app before concluding that the microphone is defective.

The connection drops or audio stutters
- Keep the iPhone and earbuds nearby.
- Turn off Bluetooth on competing or previously connected devices.
- Restart the iPhone and earbuds.
- Check for Buds2 Pro firmware updates using compatible Android or PC software.
- Inspect and clean the charging contacts if pairing mode repeatedly fails.
Should an iPhone owner use or buy the Buds2 Pro?
If you already own them, keep and pair them if your priorities are music, video, and calls. They are usable Bluetooth earbuds, and you do not need Samsung software for basic listening.
They are a weaker deliberate purchase for an iPhone user who expects frequent EQ changes, easy ANC configuration, convenient battery management, firmware updates from the phone, or seamless Apple-device switching. In that case, compare them with earbuds offering official iOS companion-app support.
The Buds2 Pro make the most sense when you already have them, receive them at a substantial discount, or also use a Samsung or compatible Android device for configuration and maintenance. A newer Samsung Buds model should not automatically be treated as a fully integrated iPhone alternative without separately verified iOS support.
