The Trilobe Nuit Fantastique replaces conventional watch hands with three rotating rings and fixed indicators for hours, minutes, and seconds. Its distinctive display is paired with the brand’s X-Centric automatic movement, but case dimensions, materials, and water resistance vary by version. Here is how to read it and what to verify before choosing a reference.
How do you read a Trilobe watch?
The Nuit Fantastique does not use central hands. Trilobe describes its hours, minutes, and seconds display organs as rotating rings that sit on the same plane as the dial; fixed indicators show the time against those moving rings. The collection’s rings are titanium with DLC coloring, and its numerals are pad-printed, according to the brand’s collection specifications: Trilobe Nuit Fantastique.
This is a different way to present the usual three time readings, not a different timekeeping function. Because the rings move while the indicators remain fixed, reading the display requires interpreting the positions of the numerals relative to those markers. The official material establishes the layout, but does not establish whether it is more or less legible in everyday use.
What movement does it use, and what is the power reserve?
Trilobe equips the Nuit Fantastique with its X-Centric automatic mechanical calibre, which uses a micro-rotor. The brand lists a 48-hour power reserve and a balance frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz). These are manufacturer specifications, not independent performance-test results. The movement’s published dimensions are 5.78 mm thick and 35.2 mm in diameter; the technical page lists 33 functional jewels: Trilobe calibres.

Component counts can differ between published page sections and movement editions, so a single count should not be treated as universal without identifying the specific reference or revision.
How big is the Nuit Fantastique?
Trilobe lists two case diameters. The official collection page pairs each diameter with its lug-to-lug measurement and gives a 20 mm lug width. Confirm the dimensions for the exact reference, since construction and specifications vary across the collection.

Listed case materials include grade 5 titanium and 18-carat rose gold; the official manual also covers steel versions. The dimensions above are useful starting points for comparing references, but they do not by themselves establish how a watch will sit on a particular wrist.
What should you know about water resistance and ownership?
Water resistance depends on the case material
Trilobe’s English user manual gives different ratings by material: 5 bar (approximately 50 m) for steel or titanium and 3 bar (approximately 30 m) for rose gold. These are manufacturer ratings; they are not a recommendation to swim in every version. Check the rating for the exact reference in the official English user manual.

Strap and warranty
Trilobe lists a leather strap and a 24-month warranty from delivery in its collection material. Confirm the warranty terms applicable in your region and to the specific watch before purchase. Although the listed lug width is 20 mm, that alone does not guarantee that every generic strap will fit correctly; check the reference and strap-end shape before ordering a replacement.
What is the difference between Nuit Fantastique and Trente-Deux?
They are distinct Trilobe watch configurations, not two names for the same model. Trilobe announced the Trente-Deux on September 4, 2025, describing it as having a redesigned dial, an integrated bracelet, and the brand’s first Manufacture calibre, X-Nihilo. Before deciding between versions, compare the details that change the fit and ownership decision rather than relying on the collection name alone:
