Two New 39mm Rado Captain Cook Models Bring a Holiday Vibe

Rado’s two new non-limited Captain Cook models pair a 39 mm stainless-steel case with tropical-looking gradient dials: one fades from light blue to white, while the other blends black into turquoise. Fratello reported the launch on July 21, 2025, positioning the size between the collection’s 37 mm and 42 mm steel versions. Both watches share the same reported movement and core specifications; the choice is primarily between their contrasting color treatments.

Which 39 mm Captain Cook models are new?

Fratello’s July 2025 introduction identifies two references:

  • R32223203: a light-blue-to-white gradient dial, light-blue ceramic bezel insert, and silver-toned markings.
  • R32223213: a black-to-turquoise gradient dial, black ceramic bezel insert, and white printing.

The first has a lighter, resort-like look; the second uses stronger contrast. That is a visual distinction, not a difference in the reported performance or specifications.

What are the reported specifications?

The following details are reported by Fratello in its July 21, 2025 article; they have not been independently tested for this article.

What does the 39 mm case size mean?

The reported dimensions are 39 mm across, 45.5 mm from lug to lug, and 12 mm thick. The lug-to-lug measurement adds useful context to the diameter when comparing case proportions or considering how the watch may sit on a wrist. These figures place the new size between the 37 mm and 42 mm stainless-steel Captain Cook models described by Fratello; they do not establish how the watch will fit every wearer.

What movement is inside?

Fratello reports a Rado R763 automatic movement with manual winding, hacking seconds, 25 jewels, and adjustment in five positions. Its stated 80-hour power reserve means the watch can run for that long off the wrist when fully wound, though actual running time can vary with use and condition. The article also identifies an antimagnetic Nivachron hairspring.

What were the launch price and warranty?

Fratello listed a launch price of €2,550 / US$2,450 and a five-year warranty in 2025. These are launch-era figures, not confirmation of today’s price, regional warranty terms, stock, or availability. No current official Rado product page or current retailer terms were established alongside those figures.
