What this review can—and cannot—tell you
There is a meaningful distinction between a hands-on review and a current assessment of the brand’s entire catalog. Fratello’s Balazs Ferenczi reviewed a customized UNDONE Urban chronograph in an article published December 15, 2017. His account describes the watch he received and handled. It does not establish how current models perform, or whether every UNDONE watch shares its construction or components.
For current products, UNDONE’s official pages describe the catalog, ordering process, and policies. Those pages are useful for what the company offers and promises, but claims about assembly and quality control are the brand’s own descriptions rather than an independent audit.
What the 2017 Urban hands-on review found
Ferenczi reported that his customized Urban chronograph had a 40 mm case diameter, 48 mm lug-to-lug length, and 13.7 mm thickness. He identified its movement as a Seiko VK61A meca-quartz. His review also discusses the chronograph pushers, date setting, case finishing, and strap options. These details apply to his historical example; they should not be treated as verified specifications for a current Urban model. Read the Fratello review.

Ferenczi reported paying about US$300, including express shipping from Hong Kong, at the time. That is a 2017 purchase price, not a current price reference. He summarized the selection he encountered then: “Undone came with a very simple idea. For a low price you can choose a watch design (two choices).” The comment describes the offering as he saw it in 2017, not the present catalog.
What UNDONE currently offers
UNDONE’s homepage presents collections including Urban, Urban Enamel Automatic, Slim 4.9mm, Aquadeep, Basecamp, Terra, Terra II, Urban 34, and Aero, as well as collaborations and preset models. Its stated proposition combines ready-designed watches with customization. Catalog details and prices can change, so consult the current UNDONE catalog for availability.

Specifications are model-specific. For example, UNDONE’s product page for The Slim Silver 4.9mm names a Swiss Ronda 1062 movement, 316L stainless steel, and sapphire glass. Those details cannot be assumed for an Urban, Aquadeep, or another model. Compare the individual product page for the exact watch you are considering, including its movement, dimensions, materials, water resistance, and customization options.
How made-to-order works, according to UNDONE
UNDONE says customers can choose a preset watch or customize elements, after which the company reviews the customization, assembles the watch, performs quality control, and packs and ships it. The company describes the watches as built by hand and assembled by watchmakers. This explains the company’s stated process; it does not independently verify workmanship or quality-control results. Its How Our Watches Are Made page also describes materials such as 316L steel and LEXAN polycarbonate and says some parts are developed in-house while others come from suppliers. Confirm materials and ratings on the specific model page rather than generalizing across the range.

Build time, delivery, returns, and warranty
UNDONE’s delivery page estimates build and assembly at 7–10 business days for fixed-SKU orders and 17–20 business days for customized orders, before shipping. It estimates 10–14 business days for international free shipping, with destination and delays affecting delivery. These are company estimates, not guaranteed arrival dates. The same page says movements are mainly manufactured in Japan and watches are assembled in Hong Kong and Japan depending on model. See the delivery information for current terms.
The official policy pages state a standard 12-month warranty from shipment for covered manufacturing defects, subject to the applicable terms. The current returns page says customized orders and certain limited models, preorders, and early-access purchases are not eligible for return or cancellation. Eligibility depends on order type and the terms in force when you buy; check the returns and refunds policy and the exact product and checkout terms before placing an order.

How to judge an UNDONE model before buying
The historical review is useful as a record of one customized Urban, but it cannot decide whether a different or current model suits you. Evaluate the precise listing and order terms rather than relying on brand-wide assumptions.
- Movement and dimensions: Check the named movement or caliber and the case measurements on that model’s product page. Wrist fit depends on more than diameter; lug-to-lug length and thickness matter too.
- Materials and water resistance: Verify the case, crystal, and stated water-resistance rating for the exact reference. Do not transfer specifications from another collection.
- Customization: Confirm which elements can be changed and whether your chosen configuration affects return or cancellation eligibility.
- Timing and support: Compare the estimated build window with your needs, then review shipping, warranty, and returns terms before checkout.
The sources available do not establish a current independent comparative winner or a recent hands-on test of a current UNDONE model. A fair quality judgment beyond the specific 2017 review would require current, model-specific inspection.
