The Ultrablack is a minimal, two-hand watch built around a light-absorbing black finish; the blue version uses Côtes de Genève decoration and polished applied indexes for a more conventional, visibly detailed look.

What Musou Black changes about the Ultrablack dial
Venezianico uses a brass dial treated with Musou Black for the Ultrablack. The brand says the coating absorbs 99.4% of light, describing it as the starting point for its exploration of the watch’s dial. That percentage is the manufacturer’s claim about the coating; it is not an independently verified measurement of the finished watch dial.
The visual idea is a dial that recedes into near-black rather than drawing attention through color or decoration. By contrast, the blue version’s Côtes de Genève pattern and polished indexes make the dial’s surface and markers more apparent. The available accounts do not include a controlled side-by-side legibility test, so appearance should not be mistaken for a measured comparison of readability.

Venezianico describes its dial process in its official journal article about making Ultrablack dials.
Shared proportions and time-only movement
The Ultrablack measures 40 mm across, 44 mm from lug to lug, and 8.95 mm thick, according to the official product page. Fratello reports the same Arsenale case dimensions for the blue variant. Those figures describe the case, not how the watch will sit on every wrist; the source accounts do not report a fit test across different wrist sizes.

Both versions use the Miyota 9029 automatic movement and display hours and minutes without a date. Fratello’s 2024 article reports 28,800 vibrations per hour, a 42-hour power reserve, and 24 jewels. Those are specifications published by Fratello, rather than results of a timing or endurance test. The two-hand layout keeps the display uncluttered, but it also means neither version offers a seconds hand or calendar display.
Strap and bracelet choices
Venezianico’s Ultrablack listing shows an integrated rubber strap with a steel end link. Fratello’s article describes the blue Arsenale on the Canova Concept bracelet and reports that a bracelet configuration was available for an additional €100 at the time. That is a December 2024 report, not a current offer or a confirmation that the bracelet fits every reference. Check the current product listing for configuration and reference compatibility before buying.

What the hands-on impressions establish
Michael Stockton says he first saw the watches at WatchPro Salon 2024 and later had two pieces at Fratello’s headquarters. His response was emphatically positive: “Folks, this might sound like hyperbole, but these might be the best bang-for-the-buck watches in existence.” That is Stockton’s opinion, not an objective value finding.
His account offers an editorial impression from in-person access, not a controlled timing, durability, or long-term ownership report. It does not establish brand-wide reliability, service outcomes, or how either watch performs after extended wear.

Price and availability depend on region and date
At the time the official page was retrieved in 2026, Venezianico’s US-facing Ultrablack listing displayed $885, while its Italian page displayed €800. These are separate regional displayed prices, not a like-for-like currency comparison; the page snapshot does not guarantee current price, stock, shipping cost, or checkout terms.
Fratello reported a historical launch-era starting price of €656 excluding VAT in its December 13, 2024 article, with an additional €100 for the bracelet configuration. Those older figures should not be read as today’s retail pricing. Confirm the amount and configuration shown for your location before ordering.
