The Rolex Submariner 124060 is the no-date, 41 mm Oystersteel Submariner introduced in 2020. It pairs a black dial with a black Cerachrom bezel and succeeds the 40 mm reference 114060. This review covers what the specifications and launch-era reporting establish; it does not claim personal wrist time or independent testing of the watch.
What the 124060 is
The 124060 is the no-date member of the Submariner line. Its black lacquer dial has Chromalight markers and hands, and its black Cerachrom bezel rotates in one direction with a 60-minute scale. Rolex specifies a 41 mm Oystersteel case, screw-down Triplock crown, sapphire crystal, and a solid-link Oystersteel bracelet.
It is distinct from the Submariner Date: Rolex specifies calibre 3230 for the 124060 and calibre 3235 for the date model. The 2020 Rolex brochure describes the 124060 as a Superlative Chronometer, meeting COSC certification and Rolex certification after casing, and records an international five-year guarantee at launch. Those are launch-era statements, not a substitute for checking current warranty terms or the status of a particular watch.
What changed from the 40 mm 114060
The 2020 redesign moved from the discontinued 40 mm 114060 to a 41 mm case, with a remodelled bracelet and calibre 3230. In its launch-era review, Monochrome Watches reported more tapered, thinner lugs, redesigned crown guards, a 21 mm lug width instead of 20 mm, and a case height of about 12.5 mm. These are that publication’s reported observations; Rolex’s brochure confirms the larger redesigned case and remodelled bracelet.

Diameter alone cannot predict how a watch will sit on a particular wrist. The lug shape and wider spacing affect the visual footprint, so trying the watch on is more informative than comparing the 40 mm and 41 mm labels alone.
Movement and stated performance
Rolex lists calibre 3230 with approximately 70 hours of power reserve and precision of −2/+2 seconds per day after casing. These are manufacturer specifications, not timing results from this review. Actual performance on an individual watch can only be established by measuring that watch.

Diving functions and water resistance
Rolex specifies water resistance to 300 metres (1,000 feet) and a unidirectional 60-minute bezel. The bezel lets a diver track elapsed time by aligning its marker with the minute hand at the start of a timed interval. It turns only in the direction that reduces the indicated remaining time if knocked, a useful safety-oriented design feature.
The rating describes the model, not the present condition of every example. Water resistance depends on seals and the watch’s condition; a used or overdue-for-service watch should not be assumed safe for diving based on its reference number alone. Have its water resistance checked by a qualified service provider before relying on it underwater.

Bracelet fit and adjustment
The Oyster bracelet uses an Oysterlock safety clasp and Rolex’s Glidelock extension system. In the 2020 brochure, Rolex describes approximately 20 mm of adjustment in increments of approximately 2 mm. This lets the wearer alter bracelet length without tools, including to accommodate a wetsuit. The stated adjustment is not a substitute for sizing the bracelet correctly.

Rolex’s US product page listed the 124060 at $10,050 when accessed for this article on October 8, 2026. That is a dated US listing, not the 2020 launch price or a universal price; availability and pricing can vary by market and over time. Rolex states that only official Rolex retailers are allowed to sell and maintain its watches. For a pre-owned example, assess the seller, condition, service history, and documentation independently rather than treating the model specification as proof of authenticity or condition.
