Elvis Presley’s best-known watch was the Hamilton Ventura he wore in Blue Hawaii, but the record also connects him to an auction-famous Tiffany-signed Omega, a Rolex King Midas, and watches he gave to friends. These are notable documented examples, not a complete inventory of every watch he owned.
Elvis Presley’s notable watches at a glance
| Watch | Connection to Elvis | Reported provenance or auction history |
|---|---|---|
| Hamilton Ventura | Worn in the 1961 film Blue Hawaii | Hamilton says it launched the Ventura in 1957 as the world’s first electric watch. |
| 18K white-gold Omega, reference H6582/D96043 | Presented by RCA in connection with Elvis’s 75-million-record milestone | The Elvis Presley Museum reports a 2018 result of CHF1,812,500; Swatch Group reports CHF1,500,000 before buyer’s premium at Phillips in 2018. |
| Gold-capped Omega Constellation | Worn during Elvis’s Army service in Germany, then given to Charlie Hodge | Fratello reports that Antiquorum sold it for $52,500 in 2012. |
| 18K solid-yellow-gold Corum Buckingham | Given to Richard Davis | Fratello reports that the engraved watch sold for $22,500 at Antiquorum in 2016. |
| Rolex King Midas no. 343 | Presented after six sold-out Houston Astrodome performances in 1970 | Phillips documents the presentation; the watch is displayed at Graceland. |
| 14K gold-filled Lord Elgin | Associated by the Elvis Presley Museum with Elvis’s 1955–56 stage period and a gift to Scotty Moore | The museum dates the gift to April 25, 1956, and links the watch to his January 28, 1956 appearance on Stage Show. |
What watch did Elvis wear in Blue Hawaii?
It was the Hamilton Ventura, recognizable by its distinctive asymmetrical triangular case. Hamilton introduced the model in 1957 and identifies it as the world’s first electric watch; its appearance on Elvis’s wrist in the 1961 musical gave the design a lasting place in popular culture. Hamilton still sells Ventura models, though the current collection should not be assumed to be identical to the watch seen in the film.
What was Elvis Presley’s most expensive watch?
Among the watches covered here, the strongest candidate is the white-gold Omega with a Tiffany & Co. dial. It has a diamond-set bezel and a manually wound calibre 510. The two reported 2018 figures in the table are not directly interchangeable: Swatch Group specifies the Phillips result before buyer’s premium, while the Elvis Presley Museum gives a higher total. The difference is consistent with a distinction between hammer price and a reported total including the buyer’s premium, so the figures should not be presented as competing estimates of the same price basis.
The watch’s significance rests on more than its precious materials or reported sale. RCA presented it to Elvis in connection with the 75-million-record milestone, giving it a documented link to his recording career as well as a notable Tiffany-signed dial. The Elvis Presley Museum records the sale; Swatch Group’s account supplies the pre-premium figure.

Which watches did Elvis give to friends?
Omega Constellation for Charlie Hodge
Fratello reports that Elvis wore a black-dial, chronometer-grade Constellation while stationed in Germany from 1958 to 1960, then gave it to Charlie Hodge. Its reported 2012 Antiquorum sale provides a later public point in the watch’s history. This account is secondary reporting rather than a manufacturer or institutional record.
Corum Buckingham for Richard Davis
Fratello also describes an engraved, solid-yellow-gold Buckingham as a gift to Richard Davis. The engraving and named recipient help distinguish this watch’s story from an unattributed model merely associated with Elvis, while the reported 2016 Antiquorum sale supplies its auction record.

Lord Elgin for Scotty Moore
The Elvis Presley Museum attributes a 14K gold-filled Lord Elgin to Elvis’s early stage years and says he gave it to guitarist Scotty Moore on April 25, 1956. The museum connects it to the January 28, 1956 Dorsey Brothers Stage Show appearance. These are the museum’s provenance claims; they should be described as such rather than treated as a complete, independently established ownership history.
Did Elvis own a Rolex King Midas?
Phillips documents King Midas no. 343 as a presentation to Elvis by Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo officers after six sold-out Astrodome performances in 1970. Phillips says the watch remains on display at Graceland. This is evidence of a specific Rolex associated with Elvis—not proof that the King Midas was the only Rolex he owned, or a catalogue of every Rolex he may have worn.

How strong is the evidence for these watches?
The watches do not all rest on the same kind of evidence. Hamilton’s account supports the Ventura’s launch history and film association; Phillips documents the King Midas presentation; and Swatch Group reports an auction result for the Tiffany-signed Omega. The Elvis Presley Museum supplies provenance claims for the Lord Elgin and its own reported Omega result. Fratello provides secondary accounts of the Constellation and Buckingham, including their reported gifts and sales.
There is no single complete inventory of Elvis’s watches. A photograph can suggest that a watch was worn, but without a reliable identification and a documented chain of ownership it does not establish the model, authenticity, or provenance. The six examples here are best understood as selected watches with distinct film, music, Army, performance, or personal-gift connections—not an exhaustive list.
