Tissot’s 2023 Chemin des Tourelles refresh keeps the collection’s classic character while refining its case, crystal, dial details and movement. The automatic range was announced in 34 mm, 39 mm and 42 mm sizes, with differences in dial style, finish and strap or bracelet. Which versions are currently offered depends on the market and exact reference.

What changed in the updated collection?

Tissot presented the 2023 update as a refinement of an established design, rather than a departure from it. The brand highlights polished case detailing, a domed sapphire crystal and a softly sunray-finished domed dial. It also describes the hands as combining sandblasted and polished textures, with curved, gently faceted markers. These are Tissot’s descriptions of the collection’s design.

The movement changed to an automatic Nivachron Powermatic 80 calibre. Tissot states that it provides an 80-hour power reserve and increased resistance to magnetism; the announcement does not quantify that resistance. Tissot’s pressroom says, “Each model in the new Chemin des Tourelles collection is governed by the new Nivachron Powermatic 80 movement.” Tissot Pressroom: Chemin des Tourelles 2023

Why is it called Chemin des Tourelles?

The name refers to the street leading to Tissot’s home in Le Locle, Switzerland. Tissot’s current US collection page says its factory was established there in 1907. Tissot US Chemin des Tourelles collection

How do the 34 mm, 39 mm and 42 mm sizes differ?

Tissot announced all three case diameters for the refreshed collection. Diameter is a useful starting point, but it does not by itself determine how a watch will wear: wrist shape, case proportions and strap or bracelet also matter. If possible, compare the exact reference on your wrist rather than choosing by diameter alone.

  • 34 mm: the smallest announced option. Consider it if you prefer a more compact case or a less prominent look.
  • 39 mm: the middle size in the announced range, offering an in-between case diameter.
  • 42 mm: the largest announced option. Tissot’s US listing for reference T1394071103800 is one example in this size.

The 2023 announcement establishes the three sizes, but it does not establish that every dial, finish or bracelet combination is available in every size or country. Check current local listings for the precise configuration.

Which dial, finish and bracelet should you choose?

Tissot announced steel, rose gold PVD and two-tone finishes, along with a range of dial and strap colors. Marker designs include Roman numerals paired with a Clous de Paris dial-ring motif, as well as simpler baton indices. These visual choices, together with the size and supplied strap or bracelet, are the main ways to distinguish variants.

Compare the exact reference rather than relying on a collection photo or a broad description. For each candidate, confirm the case diameter, dial and marker layout, case finish, and whether it comes on a strap or metal bracelet. The live assortment varies by country: when accessed in 2026, Tissot’s US collection page displayed eight automatic models, while its French collection listing displayed nine. Those counts are access-time snapshots, not a guarantee of present stock. Tissot US collection listings · Tissot France collection listings

What do listed prices and reference-specific details tell you?

Price depends on market and listing date, so treat country-page figures as local snapshots rather than a direct comparison. Tissot’s US product page for the 42 mm automatic reference T1394071103800 displayed $950 when accessed in 2026. The French collection page displayed prices from €845 to €1,045 for its listed models when accessed in 2026. These are different market listings and are not a like-for-like price comparison.

The US product page for T1394071103800 specifies a see-through caseback, domed sapphire crystal, sunray dial and quick-release bracelet. Tissot US: reference T1394071103800

Strap fit is also reference-specific. Tissot’s Ireland page for T1394072203800 mentions an official blue silicone strap and 22 mm lugs. Do not assume that measurement applies to another Chemin des Tourelles; verify the lug width and fit for your exact reference before buying a replacement strap.
