The Breguet Tradition Tourbillon 7047 puts two mechanisms usually hidden inside a watch—the tourbillon and the fusée-chain transmission—on display. In the current platinum reference 7047PT/1Y/9ZU, that open architecture is paired with a blue hand-guilloché dial and a manually wound calibre Breguet lists with a 55-hour power reserve. The chain-and-fusée system is designed to keep torque more consistent as the mainspring unwinds; that is Breguet’s stated aim, not an independently verified timing result.
What sets the Tradition Tourbillon 7047 apart?
Its defining feature is the combination of a tourbillon and a fusée-chain transmission, both made prominent within the Tradition collection’s open architecture. The arrangement makes the watch’s regulating mechanism and its power-transmission system part of the visual composition rather than concealing them beneath a conventional dial.
The tourbillon’s rotating cage contains the balance and escapement. Breguet traces the complication’s historical purpose to counteracting positional rate errors associated with gravity. That describes the design aim; it does not establish a quantified accuracy gain for this wristwatch in everyday wear.
How does the fusée-chain transmission work?
A chain links the mainspring barrel to a cone-shaped fusée. The cone’s changing radius alters the leverage through which the mainspring drives the movement:

Breguet says this changing leverage is intended to deliver more constant torque to the tourbillon as the watch runs down, optimising rate regularity. The manufacturer’s explanation describes the mechanism’s purpose; the cited sources do not provide an independent timing test of the 7047 or show a measured accuracy improvement.

Breguet’s product page directs customers to a point of sale for the recommended retail price rather than publishing a figure. A price would need to be checked for the relevant market and date.
What did the 2022 blue launch version look like?
Swatch Group’s archive dates the announcement of the new blue 7047 to 26 June 2022, the date associated with Abraham-Louis Breguet’s tourbillon patent of 26 June 1801. The announcement describes blue coating on the tourbillon cage and dial, with thermally blued chain links drawing attention to the transmission. It also highlights the contrast between the visible mechanics and the off-centre gold dial, which features Clous de Paris guilloché, Roman numerals, apple-shaped hands and three screws securing the dial.

The historical announcement gives that 2022 watch a 41 mm platinum case and calibre 569, but lists 542 components and a 50-hour power reserve. Breguet’s current page for 7047PT/1Y/9ZU instead lists 499 components and 55 hours. These are different dated published specifications; the historical figures should not be substituted for, or combined with, the current reference listing.

Breguet’s 7047 instructions describe separate winding and time-setting crown positions. For winding, the manual recommends winding daily, preferably at a regular time. Turn the crown until resistance is felt, do not force it, then turn it back by at least one-quarter turn to release the winding train.
