The SLGH005’s 9SA5 is a mechanical movement with a stated frequency of 36,000 vibrations per hour and approximately 80 hours of power reserve. Grand Seiko publishes a mean daily rate of +5 to −3 seconds per day under controlled pre-casing conditions and a normal-usage range of +8 to −1 seconds per day. Those figures describe the manufacturer’s specifications; they do not predict the measured rate of a particular used or new watch.
SLGA009: Spring Drive
The SLGA009’s 9RA2 Spring Drive has an approximately 120-hour reserve and a stated accuracy of ±10 seconds per month. Consider whether those published specifications and the Spring Drive system match your preferences. Do not treat either model’s published accuracy as a guarantee of the performance of the specific watch on offer.

Try the exact watch for fit and legibility
Both watches have a 40.0 mm case diameter, but the SLGA009’s listed lug-to-lug measurement is 47.9 mm, compared with 47.0 mm for the SLGH005. Their listed thicknesses are 11.8 mm and 11.7 mm, respectively. Measurements are useful for screening, not a substitute for trying the watch on: wrist shape, bracelet articulation and how the watch sits all affect comfort.
