On the GA-110 module covered by Casio’s Operation Guide 5146/5425, the analog hands are synchronized with the digital time: a working digital display with mismatched hands points to a different check than a watch whose digital time has stopped too. Confirm the module number on your watch, follow only its official instructions, and stop if a correction fails—especially if the watch was opened or altered.
First, separate a hand-alignment problem from stopped timekeeping
Look at the digital display and compare it with the hands:

- Digital time advances, but the hands show a different time: Check hand home-position alignment. Casio’s guide for modules 5146/5425 says the analog time is synchronized with the digital time and provides a procedure for correcting the hands.
- Digital time has stopped or is also wrong: Check the timekeeping setting and consider battery condition. A battery issue may explain stopped digital time, but replacing the battery does not itself align the hands.
- The symptom started after a modification: Note what was changed and whether the symptom appeared immediately. A part touching or obstructing a hand is a reasonable inspection question, not a documented diagnosis; the modification and its effect cannot be determined from the model name alone.
Casio lists accuracy at normal temperature as ±15 seconds a month in its GA-110 catalog. That specification is not a diagnosis for a watch that has stopped or whose hands no longer match its display.

GA-110 variants can have different modules and button instructions. Check the module number on the watch, then use the matching documentation rather than assuming that a procedure for another G-SHOCK works the same way.

The GA-110 support page links to the Operation Guide 5146/5425 and a GA-110 hand-correction tutorial. The guide’s procedure uses the watch’s designated button sequence and visual indicators; button symbols can render differently in manual extracts, so follow the illustrations in the official guide for your module rather than guessing button names.
Correct the hand home position if digital time is still advancing
For the covered module, Casio’s guide directs the owner to enter Timekeeping Mode, hold the designated button until “Sub” appears, and check the speed hand’s position. The procedure then advances to hour-and-minute correction before returning to regular timekeeping.

- Open the official GA-110 hand home-position correction instructions and confirm they match the module shown on your watch.
- Enter Timekeeping Mode and follow the guide’s button sequence until “Sub” appears.
- Check that the speed hand points to 50, at the 9 o’clock position. Use the guide’s specified controls to correct it if needed.
- Advance to hour-and-minute correction and align those hands at 12 o’clock, following the module-specific illustrations and controls.
- Return to regular timekeeping as the guide instructs, then compare the hands with the digital time.
If you cannot identify the module, the display does not behave as the guide describes, or the hands still do not align after the procedure, do not improvise with another module’s button sequence.
If digital time has stopped too, consider the battery and settings
The Operation Guide 5146/5425 specifies a CR1220 battery and an approximate battery life of two years for the covered module. That is a guide-specific estimate, not proof that the battery caused a particular failure. Confirm your watch’s module and battery requirement before buying a replacement or arranging service.

The GA-110 catalog separately gives an approximate three-year battery-life figure for the series. These figures refer to different source contexts; do not treat either as a universal prediction for every GA-110 variant or for a modified watch. If digital time has stopped, check the watch’s settings and battery condition rather than treating hand correction as a fix for the underlying problem.
Consider impact, magnetism and the modification without assuming a cause
Casio’s guide says strong magnetism or impact can throw off the speed, hour and minute hands. The GA-110 catalog describes JIS1 magnetic resistance and a magnetic-resistant plate intended to prevent magnetism-caused hand deviation. Resistance is not immunity, and neither source establishes that a specific exposure or modification caused your symptom.

If the watch was opened or altered, record what was changed and whether the problem began at that time. Do not force the hands, open the case, or install replacement parts based on symptoms alone; the available information does not identify the modification or establish a repair method for it.
When to stop troubleshooting and seek inspection
If the official home-position procedure does not restore alignment, the watch behaves differently from the guide, or digital time remains stopped after basic setting checks, seek qualified inspection. This is especially prudent if the watch was opened or altered, because the modification may require examination to determine whether it affects operation.
