The clearest on-screen identifications in Marvel’s The Avengers (2012) are a Hamilton Khaki Field Auto on Steve Rogers, a Piaget Polo on Nick Fury, and a titanium Hamilton field watch on Tony Stark. The first two have specific model identifications; Stark’s exact reference is not established by the available source. These are character watches in the film, not a guide to the actors’ personal collections.
Steve Rogers: Hamilton Khaki Field Auto H70555533
WatchSpotting identifies Chris Evans as Captain America wearing the Hamilton Khaki Field Auto, reference H70555533, in The Avengers. The page reports that Hamilton documents the film placement on its product page. Its description gives a 42 mm stainless-steel case, black dial, date display at three o’clock and brown leather strap. WatchSpotting’s identification is the basis for the model and placement details.
Nick Fury: Piaget Polo G0A32038
A Piaget press release published by WorldTempus on May 10, 2012, says Samuel L. Jackson wears a Piaget Polo in the film. That contemporaneous release describes an 18-karat white-gold case, black alligator strap, in-house 880P flyback chronograph movement and dual-time function. Watch-ID identifies the specific reference as G0A32038. The release’s specifications are historical product information, not confirmation of current availability or price.
Tony Stark: titanium Hamilton field watch, reference unconfirmed
WatchSpotting reports that Robert Downey Jr.’s Tony Stark wears a titanium version of the Hamilton field watch and describes that reference as retired. The page text available for this identification does not name the reference number. It should not be confused with Rogers’s stainless-steel H70555533: the source identifies a different material and does not establish that the two watches share a reference. See WatchSpotting’s Robert Downey Jr. watch listing for its account.

How the three identifications compare
| Character | Identification | What is established | Availability information |
|---|---|---|---|
| Steve Rogers | Hamilton Khaki Field Auto H70555533 | 42 mm stainless steel; black dial; date at three; brown leather strap. Placement is reported by WatchSpotting as brand-documented. | WatchSpotting describes the steel reference as current, but present-day stock has not been checked. |
| Nick Fury | Piaget Polo G0A32038 | Specific reference from Watch-ID; the 2012 Piaget release describes an 18k white-gold case, black alligator strap, 880P flyback chronograph and dual time. | Current availability is not stated in the cited sources. |
| Tony Stark | Titanium Hamilton field-watch variant; exact reference not established | WatchSpotting reports a titanium version and says the reference is retired; no reference number is provided. | Described as retired by WatchSpotting; exact model and present-day market status are not established. |
If you are looking for a screen-matched watch, the Rogers reference is the most precise identification here. The Fury reference is also specific, but its cited technical description dates to 2012. For Stark, the available identification is not detailed enough to verify a reference-matched purchase. Treat any other Khaki Field as a related style rather than a confirmed match.
Keep Age of Ultron’s communication watches separate
The team communication devices in Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015) are not evidence of retail Samsung watch models worn in the 2012 film. Samsung Global Newsroom’s 2015 account says the devices for Captain America, Thor, Hawkeye, Black Widow and sometimes Bruce Banner enabled communication, and that prototypes were worn during filming and later enhanced with CGI. Samsung describes sensors for heart rate, body temperature and mental state. These are fictional film devices, not identified consumer products. Read Samsung’s account of the Age of Ultron devices.

These identifications concern what characters wear on screen. Time+Tide’s 2023 article about watches worn by Avengers cast members and other MCU actors is a different subject: an actor’s personal watch outside a particular role does not establish what that character wears in a film. The distinction matters when comparing screen props with celebrity-watch coverage. See Time+Tide’s cast-watch article for that separate angle.
