Xiaomi Book Pro 14 and Watch S5: launch status
Xiaomi’s March 19 event in China featured the Xiaomi Book Pro 14, Xiaomi Watch S5 and a new-generation Xiaomi SU7. The earlier wording that the products were “confirmed to launch” is now outdated: both devices were presented at the event.

Display and performance
The Book Pro 14 combines a relatively large 14.6-inch OLED panel with 3.1K resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate and touchscreen support. Xiaomi positions it as a professional-colour display and claims up to 1,600 nits peak brightness. “Peak” does not mean the panel will sustain 1,600 nits across the entire screen, so independent brightness and colour measurements are still important for creative work.
The highest configuration uses Intel’s Core Ultra X7 358H, but “up to” does not mean every model includes that processor. Xiaomi also claims a 50W performance release supported by a large vapor chamber, dual fans and three air channels. One Chinese report describes the vapor chamber as roughly 10,000 square millimetres.
A higher power limit may improve sustained multicore performance, but the trade-off in a thin notebook can be increased fan noise, heat and power consumption. There is no evidence here of independent benchmarks or a discrete GPU, so buyers should not assume that the laptop is a gaming or professional-rendering specialist.
Memory, storage and construction
Reported configurations reach 32GB of RAM and 1TB of included storage. Separate reporting describes dual drive positions, including an additional M.2 2280 SSD slot, with expansion potential of up to 4TB total. Those figures should not be confused: 1TB refers to included storage, while 4TB appears to describe maximum capacity after expansion.
Before upgrading, confirm the exact slot count, supported SSD standard, user access and warranty position for the purchased model. The reported body uses magnesium alloy with a titanium-alloy keyboard support plate and a high-strength carbon-fibre bottom cover. These materials can help reduce mass or increase rigidity, but they do not prove superior durability without testing. Reported colours include blue, white and grey.

Battery, software and connectivity
The laptop has a reported 72Wh battery and 100W wired fast charging. Xiaomi or launch coverage claims up to 19.8 hours of battery life; real endurance will vary with screen brightness, 120Hz mode, workload, wireless use and the selected power profile.
The reported connections include Thunderbolt 4, USB-C, USB-A, HDMI 2.1 and a headphone jack, alongside Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3. Available coverage is inconsistent about the number of each port, so buyers should check the final regional specification page rather than assume a particular port count.

Health and fitness tracking
The Watch S5 includes heart-rate, blood-oxygen, stress, sleep and women’s-health features, plus post-exercise recovery recommendations. Xiaomi describes the sensor system as upgraded with multiple light sources and photodiodes.
Heart-rate accuracy figures differ between reports: pre-launch coverage cited up to 94%, while launch-related Chinese coverage cited 98.4%. Xiaomi’s claims may reflect different test conditions or algorithms, but without the company’s full methodology they should not be treated as independent or medical validation. These are consumer wellness features, not a substitute for clinical diagnosis.
The watch supports more than 150 sports modes, professional running-form analysis and skiing fall detection. It also supports dual-frequency GNSS across BeiDou, GPS, GLONASS, Galileo and QZSS. Xiaomi claims a 33% improvement in motion-positioning accuracy. Dual-frequency positioning can help in difficult environments, but results still depend on satellite visibility, firmware, wrist position and surrounding buildings or terrain.
Battery, case and variants
Xiaomi claims up to 21 days of battery life for the Bluetooth model and up to 14 days for the eSIM version. Cellular connectivity normally reduces endurance, and both figures are “up to” claims rather than standardized independent results.
The case is reported to use 316L stainless steel and carries a 5ATM water-resistance rating. Launch materials show different finishes and straps, including a stainless-steel bezel with fluororubber on one Bluetooth configuration and a silver-grey body with leather on an eSIM configuration. Buyers should confirm what is included with the base model rather than assuming that every pictured strap or premium finish comes in the box.

Ecosystem features and regional limitations
Xiaomi promoted wrist-based vehicle controls, vehicle safety and navigation reminders, smart-home control and interactions with smart locks or door cameras. These functions are ecosystem-dependent. They may require a compatible Xiaomi vehicle, Xiaomi Home device, account, phone, firmware and account region.

Price and availability
The Xiaomi China store lists the Book Pro 14 from CNY 8,499. Launch-related coverage reports the Watch S5 from CNY 1,199, with a CNY 1,099 introductory figure cited in social posts. These are China prices, not US MSRPs or direct currency-converted international prices.
The verified evidence establishes a China launch and China retail listings. It does not establish a launch date, price, carrier support or warranty coverage for the US, Europe, India or another market. Importing either device can involve China-only software, warranty returns to China, regional payment or eSIM restrictions and limited local support.
For the laptop, wait for official local availability if warranty coverage, a familiar keyboard layout or serviceability matters most. For the watch, confirm eSIM-carrier compatibility and regional services before importing. Buyers who prioritize Wear OS or Apple app ecosystems may prefer a locally supported smartwatch instead; endurance-sports users may prefer a Garmin-type platform.

On paper, the Book Pro 14’s strongest advantages are its 1.08kg weight, large 3.1K OLED touchscreen, high-end processor option and reported storage expansion. The Watch S5’s highlights are its claimed 21-day Bluetooth battery life, broad sports support, dual-frequency GNSS and Xiaomi ecosystem integration.
For international buyers, however, the decisive questions are regional availability, warranty, language, keyboard layout, eSIM support and ecosystem compatibility—not simply the headline specifications.
