Bulova’s fascinating history started in 1875. Discovered by Joseph Bulova, the American brand is known not only for its impeccable watch designs but also its drive for innovation and consistent craftsmanship.

Celebrating empowered femininity and inspired by poetry, Bulova’s Rubaiyat collection is composed of elegant watches that have been around since 1917. This is the brand’s first-ever timepiece for women.
This is the first watch we’re discussing because of its sophistication, elegance, and rich history. The model that stands out (and the one that is featured on the website), is the 35mm 98R248 Women’s Rubaiyat, a reinvented version which has a stainless steel case and the iconic Bulova blue spinel cabochon crown at 12 o’clock. Other features include water resistance to 30m, a striking silver-white dial, and the extravagant 50 diamonds on the case parenthesis.

The 98R237 Ladies’ Curv watch is for those looking for a watch that is slightly bigger (40.5mm) and has a more sporty look. This has a high-performance movement which has a 262 kHz vibrational frequency for precision.
This High-Performance Quartz Curv Chronograph has a gold-tone stainless steel case and a silver-white dial and gold markers. There is also a three-hand sub sweep features, an exhibition case back, and a water-resistant to 20m.

There are four different styles and colors available (check them out here), and one limited edition, which we will discuss further below. The 98P157 Women’s Futuro watch has a blue dial, a domed mineral glass, and a metalized edge to edge crystal. The rose gold-tone bracelet with deployant closure accentuates the blue shades and diamonds and is great for formal occasions.
Bulova Special Latin GRAMMY Edition (98L240)

This is a great watch for music lovers. The 98L240 Special Latin GRAMMY Edition watch is part of the Futruro collection, but has different features—it does not have diamonds and is bigger at 35mm. Excellent for those looking for a more unisex and sporty look, this watch has a black dial and black stainless steel bracelet, and a double-press deployant closure for protection. One of our favorites from this collection is the 98L246 Women’s Crystal TurnStyle watch, which is embellished with 139 Swarovski crystals. This has a stainless steel case and rose-gold tone accents, a domed mineral glass, and a mother of pearl dial. The bracelet has a deployant closure, and the watch is water-resistant to 30m.
This design has two other versions: the 98L247 Women’s Crystal TurnStyle, which has a blue mother of pearl dial and gold-tone stainless steel; and the 98L245 Women’s Crystal TurnStyle, which has a white mother of pearl dial and a stainless steel bracelet.

One common topic in reviews is the size and readability of the numeral markers—some say that it’s not easy to read, saying that the numbers are not clear and the watch is too small. If you’re concerned about these aspects, take note of the features: the case is 23mm (with a 6mm thickness), and the band width is 9mm.
Many reviews mention that this watch is a great present—something elegant but also won’t break the bank. This is a versatile watch that can match any outfit. This is a great addition to other jewelry, or it can be something that stands out when worn with otherwise plain clothes.

This watch is an example that one does not need diamonds or crystals on the watch to appear classy. The 96L138 Women’s Classic is one of our favorites as it has a unique rectangular shape, and has a versatile look. Made with a faceted metalized crystal, this sleek timepiece has a black enamel dial, an adjustable link bracelet, and a secure jewelry clasp. This is also relatively smaller than most of the models on this list (18.2mm).
This has excellent reviews on Amazon, but one of the common issues raised by owners is that they needed to have some chain links removed and adjusted. If you end up buying this model and found that it needs adjustment, you can simply take it to a jeweler like many of these customers did.

The 96R215 Women’s Marine Star Diamond watch is off Bulova’s Marie Star Collection. This 32mm watch has a total of 29 hand-set diamonds on the bezel and dial. The striking design is a midnight blue mother of pearl dial and the stainless steel bracelet and the silver-tone bezel. Other features include a date window at three o’clock, at water resistance to 100m.
There are two other models similar to this: the 98R233 Women’s Marine Star Diamond which has a leather band and white mother of pearl dial and a leather strap; and the 98R235 Women’s Marine Star Diamond, which has a gold-tone stainless steel bracelet. This one has less diamond (a total of 5) compared to the previous one we discussed. This model, as well as the Marine Star, featured above, are for those looking for a watch that’s both sporty looking and feminine; something that one could wear on both casual and formal occasions.

Bulova Harley-Davidson Women’s Watch (78L125)

Together with Harley-Davidson, Bulova produced a line of watches inspired by the motorcycle brand.
The 78L125 model off this collection is a 32mm that has 70 hand-set crystals on the bezel and hand markers that stand out on the all-black case and strap. At the center of the watch is a black dial with a mother of pearl Willie G skull, and the second’s hand has an H-D detail that fans of Harley Davidson will love.
One doesn’t need to be a fan of the motorcycle brand to like this watch, however. If you’re looking for something edgy, this is a great timepiece to have on your wrist.
