Why this watch has an unusual layout
BOLDR describes Five In A Row as a Scottish crew competing in the 2021 Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge. The product listing says the planned crossing was 3,000 miles from La Gomera to Antigua, with the rowers working two-hour shifts around the clock.
The collaboration’s central idea is to put those needs into the watch’s layout. BOLDR says: “We created this BOLDR x Five In a Row Venture to help each member keep track of their rowing shifts.” It describes the bezel as a way to follow both tides and shifts: “The bezel has a 12 hour scale to indicate the tides, but more importantly it helps the rowers easily keep track of 2 hour shifts.” Those statements explain the design intent; they are not independent tests of how accurately or conveniently the watch performs in use.
How the crown and bezel are meant to work
10 o’clock crown
The crown sits at 10 o’clock rather than the more familiar 3 or 4 o’clock positions. BOLDR says it placed the crown there to help avoid wrist damage while rowing. This offset position can also be described informally as a left-handed layout, but it does not by itself establish that the watch is a dedicated left-handed model or that every wearer will find it more comfortable.

12-hour tide and shift bezel
The bezel carries a 12-hour scale and a two-tone tide indicator. BOLDR says rowers can use the scale to keep track of their two-hour shifts. The feature connects the watch to the crew’s stated routine, although the product information does not document a tide-calculation method or establish the bezel’s accuracy for navigation.
Five In A Row I and II specifications
BOLDR lists the same core case, movement, crystal, strap, and water-resistance specifications for both editions. The documented distinction is the dial treatment.

These are BOLDR’s listed specifications, not measurements from an independent examination. The two editions’ shared dimensions make the dial the clearest documented selection point: choose the full-lume I or the matte-black, C3-lume II.
How it differs from the earlier Venture
This collaboration should not be conflated with the Venture described in a 2018 historical launch release. That release covered a 100 m quartz model with a crown at 4 o’clock; the Five In A Row product pages instead specify a 200 m automatic watch with its crown at 10 o’clock. Those are different versions, so the older model’s specifications do not describe this collaboration.

Price, availability, and the charity statement
BOLDR’s collection listing displayed $399 for each named edition when captured on October 8, 2026, while showing availability as “To be announced.” That listing does not confirm current stock or guarantee that the displayed price remains in effect; check the collection listing before making a purchase.
The product listing says 15% of proceeds from the watch would go to Reverse Rett. That records BOLDR’s stated commitment for the edition, but the available product information does not establish whether the commitment applies to a new sale today, a resale, or any currently available purchase.

BOLDR’s pages document the crew’s planned 2021 challenge, the intended rowing-focused crown and bezel, and the listed specifications. They do not establish the crew’s finish time, final fundraising total, current stock, or present-day charitable terms. Nor do they provide independent performance testing for the watch.
