The documented feature works with supported operating-system versions, supported Siri languages and Health app permissions.
What Siri can do with Health data
When Siri recognizes a request as one to read or write Health app data, it can answer questions about certain records or help log new entries. Apple said at launch that Siri could handle requests related to more than 20 Health app data types; that is Apple’s description of the feature’s scope, not an independent measurement.

Ask Siri to read a record
Apple’s examples include “What’s my step count?”, “What’s my heart rate?”, “How much did I sleep last night?”, “How far have I walked this week?” and “How does my Move ring look today?” For blood glucose, Apple gives the example “What’s my blood glucose level?” That request requires a third-party monitor connected to Health.

Ask Siri to log information
Examples from Apple include “I weigh 167 pounds,” “My period started today,” “My blood sugar is 122,” and “Record my blood pressure as 118 over 76.” Blood glucose and blood pressure requests require a third-party monitor connected to Health. To log medication, first set up a medication list in the Health app; then a request such as “I took my 8 a.m. medications” can be used as an example.

Important: Siri AI cannot currently read Health data
Apple’s Support article, published September 14, 2026, says: “Reading Health app data is not available with Siri AI at this time.” The older capability announcement describes Siri’s Health data feature, but it should not be taken as confirmation that the newer Siri AI assistant can read Health records. A Settings label that mentions “Apple Intelligence & Siri” does not change that limitation.

How to enable or turn off Siri’s Health access
- On iPhone, open Settings.
- Scroll down and tap Apps, then tap Health.
- Tap Siri or Apple Intelligence & Siri.

How Apple describes privacy for these requests
Apple Support says: “If Siri recognizes your request as a request to read or write Health app data, your Health app data is not stored or made accessible to Apple.” The recognition condition matters: Apple says that if Siri does not recognize the request as a Health data request, default Siri behavior applies, and health information included in the request is sent to Apple servers.
Separately, Apple says Health data is encrypted on the device with a passcode. Its October 2023 Health Report describes broader Health app and HealthKit controls, including user permission for data sharing and control over the types of data shared. Those general protections should not be read as overriding Apple’s qualification about requests Siri fails to recognize.
