What is the Black and White Moonwatch?
It is a new dial configuration of the Speedmaster Moonwatch Professional, announced by The Swatch Group (Japan) KK on January 13, 2026. The main dial is polished black, varnished and lacquered; the three subdials are white, also varnished and lacquered. White marks the main dial’s minute track, while the subdial tracks are black. That reversed contrast is why the layout is commonly called “reverse panda.”

The construction is a two-plate step dial: a black upper plate and white subdial bases. A black ceramic bezel ring carries a white enamel tachymeter scale, and the box-shaped sapphire crystal gives the familiar Moonwatch Professional profile. The bracelet combines brushed and polished surfaces and includes OMEGA’s patented comfort-release system. The contrast runs in the opposite direction. The 2024 white-dial Moonwatch has a lacquered white main dial with black detailing; the 2026 Black and White has a black main dial and white subdials. They are distinct colorways, not names for the same watch. OMEGA’s launch video description characterizes the new version as having a polished black dial with three contrasting white subdials.

OMEGA describes Moonshine Gold as its proprietary durable yellow-gold alloy. The color layout and core movement are shared, so the choice is principally between the steel and gold case-and-bracelet material, their different dial-side metals, and the significant launch-price gap.
What stays familiar about the Moonwatch?
Both versions retain the Moonwatch Professional’s 42 mm asymmetrical case, tachymeter bezel and manual-winding chronograph format. Monochrome Watches reports a 20 mm lug width, sapphire crystals on the front and display back, and 50 m water resistance. These are published specifications, not measurements made for this article; water resistance is a rating, not a claim that the watch is appropriate for every kind of water activity.

Both use Calibre 3861. Monochrome reports a cam-operated chronograph, Co-Axial escapement, 26 jewels, a frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour, a 50-hour power reserve and magnetic resistance up to 15,000 gauss. These are source-reported specifications, not independent accuracy or durability test results. The Japanese launch announcement states a five-year warranty; buyers should check the terms that apply in their market.

How much does the Black and White Moonwatch cost?
Monochrome Watches reported these launch-market list prices in 2026. The euro figures include taxes; the Swiss-franc figures exclude taxes, so the pairs are not directly comparable on a like-for-like tax basis.
