The current U.S. product pages list prices of $875 and $895, depending on reference and finish.
What is the 40mm Seastar Powermatic 80?
It is a smaller-cased automatic model in Tissot’s Seastar 1000 line. Tissot describes the launch as adding a Powermatic 80 version in a “more contemporary, medium case size,” and its product description identifies 40mm as a new case option for the movement. The exact reference matters: dial, case coating and supplied strap or bracelet vary by version.

How much does it cost?

Its published specifications are genuinely dive-oriented: 300m water resistance, screw-down crown and caseback, sapphire crystal and luminous markers. That describes the manufacturer’s specification, not an independent pressure test or a recommendation to use any particular watch for diving. Follow Tissot’s care and water-use guidance, and ensure the crown is fully secured before water exposure.

Fit and strap options
The 40mm diameter is paired with a 12.48mm thickness and 20mm lug width. Those dimensions give useful context for wrist fit and replacement straps, but diameter alone does not establish how a watch will wear; wrist shape, lug profile and bracelet or strap choice also matter.
Tissot lists interchangeable quick-release bracelets and straps for the range, including an official 20mm black rubber strap. Confirm compatibility with the exact reference and attachment before ordering a replacement; the watch’s 20mm lug width is the key sizing figure, not a guarantee that every 20mm strap will suit its fitting.

What to check before choosing a reference
- Compare the reference number, dial color and case finish: the variants are not identical.
- Check whether the listed configuration includes a bracelet or strap, rather than assuming the product photos represent every package.
- Confirm the regional price, availability, warranty terms and seller for the specific reference.
- For comparisons with other watches, consider thickness, movement and reserve, water-resistance rating and crown construction, crystal, lume, strap system, price and warranty together.
