Garmin lists wheelchair mode for the vívoactive 5, but not for the Forerunner 165 in its comparison. That listing alone does not establish whether the feature meets a particular person’s accessibility needs, so confirm the exact functions in the vívoactive 5 owner’s manual.

Garmin’s Forerunner 165 series manual says actual battery life depends on enabled features, including activity tracking, wrist-based heart rate, phone notifications, GPS and connected sensors. Consider how you will use the watch—and whether you want the display always on—rather than treating the headline estimate as a promise.
Price and buying considerations
On Garmin’s U.S. comparison page retrieved October 12, 2026, the Forerunner 165 was listed at $249.99 and the vívoactive 5 at $269.99. The Forerunner was therefore the lower-priced option on that page at that time; check current pricing and stock before buying, since those figures are not a guarantee of today’s retail price.

Garmin lists a proprietary plug charger for both watches. If you want a spare, verify that the cable listing explicitly supports the exact model you own.
