Short version: A Garmin device identified as A04831 has reportedly appeared in regulatory records in the UAE and Malaysia. That makes a new cycling product plausible, and specialist reporting has linked it to the rumored Edge 1060. But as of August 18, 2026, the available evidence does not confirm that Garmin has published live Edge 1060 photographs or officially announced the product.
What actually leaked?
The strongest evidence is not a product photograph or Garmin store page. It is a regulatory trail.

Specialist reporting says model A04831 appeared in the UAE TDRA database and Malaysia’s SIRIM registry. The Malaysian entry reportedly names Garmin as the company, lists the product category as “bike trainer,” shows an approval date of April 22, 2026, and gives an expiry date of April 21, 2031. These details are reported by GarminNews; the underlying registry records should be treated as the primary evidence.

A regulatory filing can establish that a Garmin-related device exists or is being prepared for a market. It does not necessarily establish the consumer name, final design, specifications, release date, or retail availability.

Is A04831 really the Garmin Edge 1060?
Possibly—but the name remains an inference. Observers connect A04831 with the Edge 1060 because Garmin’s flagship cycling-computer timeline makes a 2026 successor plausible. Garmin introduced the Edge 1040 in June 2022 and announced the Edge 1050 on June 25, 2024. A roughly two-year flagship cadence supports the theory that a successor could be in development.
That timing is not proof. The “bike trainer” classification is also broad and does not, by itself, demonstrate that A04831 is a handlebar-mounted Edge computer. The identifier could represent a regional variant, bundle, accessory, prototype, or another cycling product.
- Confirmed: Garmin sells the Edge 1050 and newer Edge 850 and Edge 550 models.
- Strongly suggested: A Garmin device identified as A04831 appears to exist in reported regulatory records.
- Plausible: A04831 is the next premium Edge model, potentially marketed as Edge 1060.
- Unconfirmed: The Edge 1060 name, final design, specifications, price, and launch date.
- Not established: An official Garmin announcement or official publication of live Edge 1060 photographs.
Are the alleged live photos official?
There is an important distinction between an image hosted by Garmin and an official product reveal. A Garmin content-delivery URL, cached backend asset, regional catalog image, retailer feed, and public product page are not equivalent evidence.

To call photographs an official Garmin leak or reveal, readers should be able to verify the original URL and determine whether the asset is tied to a live Garmin product page, product identifier, support document, or newsroom announcement. The images should also show meaningful identifying details such as a recognizable Garmin interface, mount, button layout, ports, packaging, or model markings. Metadata, image hashes, and independent corroboration would strengthen the case.
As of the August 18, 2026 check reflected here, Garmin’s newsroom did not establish an official Edge 1060 announcement, and Garmin’s indexed cycling category listed the Edge 550, Edge 850, and Edge 1050—not an Edge 1060. Search snippets or disappearing URLs should not be treated as proof that Garmin formally published the product.

Edge 850 and Edge 550
The Edge 850 and Edge 550 are compact, newer-generation options. Garmin positions them around vivid color displays, physical controls, optional touchscreen interaction where applicable, and advanced training and fueling functions. They make more sense than waiting for an unconfirmed flagship if compact size, buttons, or value matter more than the largest screen.

What could change in an Edge 1060?
The following are expectations, not leaked specifications. A successor could improve display brightness and outdoor readability, touchscreen responsiveness, battery life, charging, map storage, Wi-Fi map management, processing speed, or button layout. Compatibility and software could also expand across Varia radar and lights, Tacx trainers, power meters, Garmin sensors, e-bike systems such as Bosch Smart System, and Garmin’s training, safety, GroupRide, and location features.
Garmin’s June 2026 software update added on-device gear tracking and Bosch Smart System compatibility to applicable Edge devices, showing that software support is still evolving across the existing range. It does not confirm those features for an Edge 1060. There is no reliable basis here for asserting a camera, LTE, AI features, microLED display, solar charging, or any other specific rumored hardware.

Should you buy an Edge 1050 or wait?
Buy the Edge 1050 now if:
- You need a cycling computer immediately.
- You want a large 3.5-inch display, built-in speaker, Garmin Pay, and premium navigation.
- You accept that a successor could appear later in 2026.
- A current discount makes the 1050 substantially better value.
Wait if:
- You specifically want Garmin’s newest flagship.
- Your current computer still meets your needs.
- You care most about potential gains in battery life, processing, connectivity, or mapping.
- You can tolerate an uncertain launch date and potentially high launch price.
Choose the Edge 850 or 550 if:
- You prefer a compact computer and physical controls.
- You want newer-generation Garmin software without flagship pricing.
- You do not need every premium Edge 1050 feature.
There is currently no confirmed Edge 1060 buying page, preorder, price, bundle, or stock information. A regulatory filing is evidence of preparation, not a promise that a product announcement is imminent.
What would confirm the leak?
The confidence level would rise sharply if Garmin published a press release, live product page, support manual, firmware listing, official product image tied to a product identifier, or verified retailer inventory explicitly naming the Edge 1060. Direct TDRA and SIRIM records would also be stronger than screenshots reproduced by secondary coverage.
Confidence assessment: high that A04831 is a real reported Garmin-related regulatory entry; moderate that it is an unreleased cycling device; low-to-moderate that it is specifically the Edge 1060; and low that Garmin has officially published live Edge 1060 photos based on the evidence available here.
