On the Sinn 103 St Sa, use crown position 2 to set the date and weekday, and position 3 to set the time. Avoid using the calendar quickset between 9 p.m. and 3 a.m.; Sinn warns that the date-change gears are engaged during that interval and may be damaged.
Before you begin: identify the crown positions
Sinn’s instructions for the Model Series 103 cover the 103 St Sa and describe its Valjoux 7750 movement. The crown’s positions are: position 0, secured; position 1, winding; position 2, calendar quickset; and position 3, time setting. The manual is the Sinn Instructions for Use: Model Series 103, 2nd edition, March 2012.

Set the date and weekday
- Turn the screw-down crown counter-clockwise to loosen it.
- Pull the crown out to position 2.
- Turn the crown clockwise until the correct date appears.
- Turn it counter-clockwise until the correct weekday appears.
Do not use this quickset calendar function between 9 p.m. and 3 a.m. Sinn cautions that the date-change gears are engaged then and could be damaged by adjustment.

- Pull the crown out to position 3. The movement pauses.
- Advance the hands until the date changes. This establishes that the watch is showing midnight rather than midday.
- Continue advancing the hands to the desired time. For a precise setting, Sinn recommends moving past the desired minute marker, then adjusting back counter-clockwise.
- Push the crown back in; the movement restarts when it leaves position 3.
Wind the watch if it has stopped, then secure the crown
If the watch has stopped, use position 1 and turn the crown clockwise to wind it. Sinn says daily wear normally suffices to keep the self-winding mechanism wound; its manual does not prescribe a universal winding count for this setting procedure.

After making adjustments, fasten the crown securely. Sinn specifically advises fastening it after setting. If your crown or display does not match these instructions, contact Sinn or an authorized service provider rather than assuming the watch has the same configuration.
