Meta’s Oakley partnership has produced two smart-glasses models: Oakley Meta HSTN, the original everyday-style frame, and Oakley Meta Vanguard, a wraparound model aimed at high-intensity sports. Both combine Oakley eyewear with a camera, open-ear audio and Meta AI; Vanguard adds sport-focused features, including announced Garmin and Strava integrations. Oakley’s US product page listed the line from $399 when reviewed on October 4, 2026, but prices and availability vary by market and can change.
What are Oakley Meta glasses?
Oakley Meta is a performance-oriented AI-glasses line developed by Meta and Oakley, with EssilorLuxottica named as the broader eyewear partner. Meta announced the collaboration on June 20, 2025, describing the glasses as a new category blending Oakley eyewear design and Meta technology. The first product was HSTN, based on Oakley’s existing HSTN style; Vanguard followed in September 2025 as a distinct model for high-intensity sport.

Unlike ordinary sunglasses, the smart-glasses frames include a camera for hands-free photos and video, open-ear speakers and access to Meta AI. Oakley’s current US product page also describes hands-free features, live translation and navigation. Those are manufacturer descriptions, not independent test findings. Product capabilities can depend on software, region and configuration.

Which model should you choose?
Choose HSTN for the original style
HSTN is the model to consider if you prefer its existing Oakley frame style and want camera, audio and AI features in that design. Oakley’s US page lists PRIZM options, prescription HSTN lenses within an eligible range of -6.00 to +4.00, and Transitions choices. Confirm that the lens option, prescription and frame are available in your market before ordering.
Choose Vanguard for a sport-focused fit and integrations
Vanguard is the more clearly sport-oriented option: Meta describes its wraparound design and workout integrations, and Oakley presents it as intended for high-intensity activity. If Garmin integration matters, check compatibility for the exact Garmin device you own; the reviewed official sources do not identify compatible models. Oakley says compatible Garmin devices are sold separately.

How much do Oakley Meta glasses cost?
Price depends on model, lens selection, prescription and market. Oakley’s US product page listed Oakley Meta starting from $399.00 when reviewed on October 4, 2026; this is a US-page starting price, not a global price list or a guarantee that every configuration costs that amount. Check the live page and local ordering details for current model-specific pricing and availability.
The launch figures are historical, not current offers. In its June 2025 announcement, Meta said limited-edition HSTN would be available to preorder from July 11, 2025, at $499 USD, with the rest of the collection starting at $399 USD later that summer. Meta announced Vanguard at $499 USD ahead of its October 21, 2025 launch. Those dates and prices describe the original announcements, not present inventory.

What do the camera and battery claims mean in practice?
Meta’s June 2025 HSTN announcement claimed up to eight hours of typical use, up to 19 hours on standby, a 50% charge in 20 minutes and up to 48 hours of charging on the go from the case. Its September 2025 Vanguard announcement claimed up to nine hours of battery life, up to six hours of continuous music playback and 36 additional hours of charge from the case. These figures refer to different models and use cases, and should not be treated as directly comparable real-world test results.
Both models are described as capable of video capture up to 3K. Vanguard’s announcement additionally lists its 12-megapixel camera and 122-degree lens. The sources provide manufacturer specifications rather than independent footage-quality or battery testing.
