1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteThe Mido Multifort 8 Two Crowns is built around a practical feature: its crown at 2 o’clock rotates an internal 60-minute flange, while the crown at 4 o’clock sets the time and date. That gives this sport-chic automatic a simple way to track elapsed time or count down, without an external rotating bezel. Whether it suits you depends on how much you value that mechanism, its compact proportions and its finish—and on the price in your market.
What does the second crown do?
The crown at 2 o’clock turns the internal flange, which is marked for 60 minutes. Mido says the scale can be used to count down time. The separate crown at 4 o’clock sets the time and date, so the two controls have distinct jobs. Mido’s US collection page describes the flange as calibrated and operated by the dedicated 2 o’clock crown.

In use, align the flange’s minute marker with the minute hand or the time you want to track. As the minutes pass, the hand’s position against the flange indicates elapsed time; for a countdown, align the scale to the starting point and watch the remaining interval. Unlike an external rotating bezel, this scale sits beneath the crystal. The available product information establishes its function, but not how easily it turns or reads in particular lighting conditions.
How does the watch look and wear?
The design pairs a blue dial with horizontal relief and an octagonal bezel whose facets combine polished and satin finishes, according to Mido. The internal scale keeps the timing feature within the dial-and-crystal area rather than adding a protruding external bezel. The overall effect is a sport-chic watch: visibly sporty in its geometry and timing scale, but more restrained than a conventional dive-watch layout.

For the UK blue-rubber reference M047.507.17.041.00, Mido lists a case 38.4 mm long, 40 mm wide and 9.5 mm thick. Those are reference-specific dimensions, not confirmed measurements for every configuration. The same reference has a sapphire crystal with double anti-reflective coating. Mido UK’s listing identifies those specifications.
The relatively modest listed thickness may help the watch sit neatly under a cuff, while the 40 mm width and angular bezel give it a more assertive presence than the thickness alone suggests. Those are design implications, not a substitute for trying the watch on: wrist shape, strap fit and personal preference affect how a case wears.

What movement and reserve does it offer?
Mido specifies an automatic Caliber 72 with a power reserve of up to 72 hours and a Nivachron balance spring. The brand says the spring is intended to resist magnetism and shocks. These are manufacturer claims; independent accuracy, magnetic-resistance and shock-resistance test results are not established here. The reserve figure is a stated maximum, not a guarantee of the same running time under every condition. Mido’s US collection page and Canadian product page identify the movement and reserve.
Which strap or bracelet configuration can you buy?
The cited examples show the Multifort 8 Two Crowns on both rubber and steel. The UK blue-dial reference M047.507.17.041.00 is listed with a rubber strap; Mido Canada lists reference M047.507.11.051.00 with a steel bracelet. These examples establish that both configurations exist, but not that every dial or case reference is offered with both attachments.

Mido Canada also lists model-labelled 12 mm rubber strap options. That listing does not establish compatibility across every Multifort 8 Two Crowns reference or with third-party straps. Before buying a replacement, confirm the exact watch reference and the attachment measurements with Mido or an authorized retailer. The Canadian product page is the cited source for the bracelet reference and strap options.

These are regional manufacturer-listed prices accessed in 2026, not a market-wide survey. Currency, reference and configuration differ, so the figures are useful as local list-price context rather than a direct like-for-like comparison.

The internal rotating-flange idea has a history within Mido. Swatch Group’s 2025 archive says the function appeared in Mido’s catalogue in 2002 with the All Dial Diver and later in 2013 with the Multifort Two Crowns. The current Multifort 8 Two Crowns carries that functional approach into a design with an octagonal bezel and a more contemporary sport-chic presentation. Swatch Group’s archive records those dates.

Is it the right watch for you?
- Consider it if you want an automatic watch with a dedicated elapsed-time or countdown scale, and prefer that scale inside the crystal rather than on an external rotating bezel.
- Check the fit first if case shape and wrist presence matter to you. The cited UK reference measures 40 mm wide, and its angular bezel may make it feel more prominent than a round watch with the same width.
- Choose the configuration deliberately. The cited examples include rubber and steel-bracelet versions, but availability and reference details vary by market.
- Judge “affordable” against your own budget. The regional list prices vary by currency and configuration; the label is relative, not a universal price category.

Its accessible text does not establish hands-on findings that can be attributed here. The dated review page provides that publication context.
