The Milus Snow Star is a Swiss automatic watch collection built around a 39 mm 904L steel case, an ETA 2892A2 (TOP) movement and a restrained, vintage-inspired dial. The specifications are appealing on paper, but details such as caseback, finish, strap and dimensions vary by version. This review separates the shared core from variant-specific facts and flags what the available evidence does not establish.
Milus Snow Star specifications

Milus gives 9.45 mm thickness, including the glass, and 47.7 mm lug-to-lug for the Ice Blue and 904 Edition pages. These dimensions are useful fit references, but should not automatically be applied to every Snow Star model. The collection’s 39 mm diameter is only one part of how a watch wears; lug-to-lug length, case shape and strap also matter.
How the Snow Star variants differ
The collection is not one completely uniform configuration. Milus’s product pages describe differences in case treatment, caseback, crown and strap, so verify the specification page for the exact color or edition you are considering.

| Variant or page | Case and dimensions | Caseback and crown | Strap or bracelet |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ice Blue | Polished 904L steel; 39 mm diameter, 9.45 mm thick including glass, 47.7 mm lug-to-lug | Standard-page specification lists a screw-down caseback; confirm the exact product page for the selected configuration | Standard-page specification lists a 20 mm textile strap and clasp |
| 904 Edition | Polished 904L steel; 39 mm diameter, 9.45 mm thick including glass, 47.7 mm lug-to-lug | Standard-page specification lists a screw-down caseback; confirm the exact product page for the selected configuration | Standard-page specification lists a 20 mm textile strap and clasp |
| Night Black | ADLC-coated 904L steel; 39 mm diameter, 9.45 mm thick, 47.7 mm lug-to-lug | Open caseback and pull/push crown | Leather strap with an 18 mm coated clasp |
The product descriptions supplied for Ice Blue and 904 Edition report their dimensions, while the standard specification page describes a screw-down caseback and a 20 mm textile strap/clasp. Check the model-specific listing before relying on those latter details for either named edition. Night Black is clearly described separately by Milus, including its open caseback, pull/push crown and narrower clasp. The listed clasp width is not necessarily interchangeable with the strap’s lug width; confirm the strap attachment measurement before buying a replacement.
Movement, reserve and water resistance
ETA 2892A2 (TOP)
Milus identifies the movement as an automatic ETA 2892A2 (TOP), with 21 jewels and a stated 42-hour power reserve. That gives a concrete specification to compare with other watches, but it does not establish the Snow Star’s real-world rate, positional performance or service interval. No independent accuracy test or ownership-duration evidence is established here.
10 ATM rating
Milus states water resistance up to 10 ATM. This is the manufacturer’s rating, not a report of independent testing or a guarantee for a watch whose seals have aged, been damaged or have not been checked after service. The available product information does not set out further use-specific guidance, so consult Milus for the chosen model’s instructions rather than treating the number as a substitute for them.

Milus’s Night Black product page listed the watch at CHF 1,790 when accessed in 2026. That is a dated listing for that variant, not a guaranteed current price or a collection-wide price. Check the exact product page for current price, availability, warranty and delivery terms.

For historical context only, aBlogtoWatch’s review description dated February 10, 2020 reported a CHF 1,690 retail price. It is not a current price and should not be used to estimate today’s value. Milus’s collection page has also shown other entries, including Midway Edition models at CHF 1,990 and CHF 2,290; those are separate collection watches, not Snow Star prices.
On paper, the value proposition rests on the 904L steel case, Swiss automatic ETA movement and specified finishing. Whether that package is compelling depends on the price of the exact variant and the features you prioritize. The available evidence does not establish service costs, long-term accuracy or comparative ownership costs, so those should not be assumed from the specification sheet.
What is the Snow Star’s history?
Milus says the Snow Star originated in the 1940s for US Navy pilots and was included in “life barter kits” intended to help a pilot negotiate for information, freedom or survival after landing in unknown territory. The brand presents the modern watch as a reissue and homage. The GPHG page repeats this account, but no primary military record independently establishing the kit’s contents or distribution was identified among the sources for this article; the origin story is therefore best understood as Milus’s historical account, not independently verified documentation.
Who should consider the Milus Snow Star?
The Snow Star is worth considering if you want a relatively compact-diameter Swiss automatic with an established movement name, a stated 42-hour reserve and a vintage-influenced design. Variant choice matters: Night Black changes the case finish and caseback construction and comes on leather, while standard specifications describe a textile strap and screw-down caseback. If fit is a priority, compare the stated lug-to-lug figure with a watch you already know fits well, and confirm the exact listing before ordering.
It is harder to make a confident recommendation if your decision depends on tested accuracy, hands-on comfort, service pricing or independently documented military provenance; those points are not established by the cited product specifications and review description. For a comparison with another watch, use the same variant-level checks: dimensions, material or coating, dial legibility, movement and reserve, water-resistance rating, strap width, and current price.
