Conteenium’s listing also labels the watch sold out. Its technical details are useful when evaluating a pre-owned listing, but the available sources do not include a manufacturer specification sheet for independent confirmation.
How the size and specifications affect the buying decision
Large case presence
A 45 mm diameter makes case size a key consideration rather than a minor detail. The listed 13 mm thickness adds another dimension to check against your preferences. Neither the archive nor retailer listing establishes how the King XL wears on different wrists, so try it on if possible or ask the seller for clear photographs on-wrist and measurements before committing.

The retailer identifies a Seagull TY2709 automatic movement and lists a 40-hour power reserve, as well as manual winding. Those details describe the listing; they do not establish the watch’s timekeeping accuracy or the condition of the movement in any particular pre-owned example. Ask about service history and whether the watch is running consistently, and account for the possibility that an older example may need attention from a watchmaker.
Water resistance and crystal
The listing states 50 m water resistance and a sapphire crystal. Treat those as original listed specifications, not a guarantee that a used watch remains water-resistant today. Seals age, and resistance should not be assumed without a recent pressure test. If water exposure matters to you, ask for documented testing and follow the seller’s guidance; otherwise, keep the watch dry.

Strap fit
Conteenium lists an 18 mm strap width. That gives you a useful starting point for replacement options, but it does not establish that every 18 mm strap will fit the watch or suit its attachment and shape. Confirm the specific strap’s compatibility with the seller or maker before ordering.
Is the King XL worth buying pre-owned?
It may suit a buyer who specifically wants the King design in its 45 mm XL format and is comfortable evaluating a discontinued watch. The listing provides a useful set of technical details, but does not establish comfort, legibility, accuracy or durability in use. Those unknowns matter more when there is no current new-stock purchase route in the sources checked.

For a particular pre-owned example, prioritize its condition and the seller’s terms over assumptions based on the model’s original specifications. Before paying, verify:
- That the watch is actually the King XL, and that the seller can provide clear photographs of the dial, case, caseback and strap.
- Whether it runs, winds manually as expected, and has any known mechanical issues or service documentation.
- Whether the case, crystal and strap show damage or wear, and whether any replacement parts are original or compatible.
- What return period, warranty, shipping protection and dispute process the seller offers.
- Whether water resistance has been tested recently; do not infer current resistance from the original retailer listing.
The brand’s customer interview includes an owner who says he has a King XL, which shows that at least one customer owned one at the time of the interview. It is not evidence of current resale inventory or a broader estimate of availability.
