The Nivada Grenchen F77 Lapis Lazuli is an automatic watch with a natural stone dial, currently listed in two steel generations: the 37 mm MK1 and the 38 mm MKII. They differ in more than diameter, so check the reference and dimensions—not just “F77 Lapis Lazuli”—before choosing a listing.
Which F77 Lapis Lazuli generation is it?
Nivada Grenchen’s current product listings identify the MK1 as reference 68009A77 and the MKII as reference 68048A77. Both are steel, automatic, natural lapis lazuli-dial F77s, but their cases and listed design details are not interchangeable.

Specifications are from Nivada Grenchen’s product listings, accessed in 2026. The brand describes the MKII as having curved lugs, a redesigned integrated bracelet, drilled lugs and an open balance at 6 o’clock. Those are the manufacturer’s design descriptions; they are useful identifiers when comparing product images and listings.
How do the 37 mm and 38 mm versions differ on the wrist?
The MKII is 1 mm wider and 1.2 mm longer lug-to-lug than the MK1, while the listed thickness differs by 0.1 mm. Those measurements indicate a modest size increase, but they do not by themselves establish which watch will feel better on a particular wrist. If fit is decisive, try the exact generation and bracelet configuration where possible; a listing that omits MK1 or MKII may not give enough information to judge fit.

What should you know about the lapis lazuli dial?
The dial is natural stone, and the manufacturer says pattern varies from watch to watch. Its description says, “Each dial is unique, with patterns reminiscent of a starry night sky, offering a dynamic visual experience that changes with the lighting.” Treat product photos as an illustration of the material and design, not a promise that your individual dial will have the same pattern.

How does the Lapis Lazuli relate to the original F77?
Nivada Grenchen presents the F77 as a reissue of a 1977 design. Its official F77 history describes the original 37 mm steel watch with an integrated bracelet, octagonal bezel and basket-weave dial. Those original-dial details should not be confused with the natural lapis lazuli dial on the current versions.
