Paulin’s Modul D and E are two dial treatments in the same time-only watch family: the D has a lacquer dial, while the E has a brushed-rhodium dial. Paulin’s current catalog lists each with a 35 mm quartz or manual movement, or a 39 mm automatic. Current UK list prices are £450, £990 and £900 respectively; prices and stock can change.

What distinguishes the Modul D from the Modul E?

The main difference is the dial finish and color scheme, not the movement range. Paulin’s current product pages identify the D as lacquer and the E as brushed rhodium. The detailed colors below were reported in Monochrome Watches’ launch coverage on 18 October 2024, so treat them as launch-era descriptions rather than a guarantee of every current listing.

  • Modul D: black lacquer on brass, with blue, white and red hands, white Arabic numerals and yellow indices.
  • Modul E: brushed rhodium, with orange and blue hands, blue Arabic numerals and orange indices.

Both are time-only designs. Current catalog entries offer the same three movement and case-size configurations for either dial treatment.

Current Paulin Modul D and E options

Paulin’s current catalog lists the following UK configurations and prices. These are listed prices, not a guarantee of availability or a price that will remain unchanged.

Casio F91W Series | Digital Watch | Clear | Water Resistant | LED Light | 1/100 SEC Stopwatch | Regular Time Keeping (HR, Min, SEC, PM, Date, Day) | Daily Alarm | Lightweight | 7 Year Battery
  • AN ICON SINCE 1989 — THE WORLD'S MOST POPULAR DIGITAL WATCH — Introduced in June 1989 as a successor to the F-87W, the F-91W is popular for its low price, long battery life, and iconic design. As of 2026, production of the watch has reached 100 million units, making it the most sold watch in the world. A timeless design, unchanged since launch, that has earned a global cult following across generations.
  • FEATHERLIGHT & SLIM — Urethane resin is employed for the case and band, and the module features a reduced number of components — every element of construction was reconsidered to secure high quality at an affordable price, resulting in a global hit watch that offers both affordability and long-lasting reliability. The case measures 38.2 × 35.2 × 8.5mm and weighs just 21 grams — barely noticeable on the wrist.
  • 1/100-SECOND STOPWATCH WITH SPLIT TIME — The 1/100-second stopwatch covers elapsed time, split time, and 1st-2nd place timing up to 59'59.99" — precise enough for sports, training, cooking, and any timed activity. Handy features for day-to-day life also include a daily alarm, water resistance, and LED light functions.
  • DAILY ALARM | HOURLY CHIME | AUTO-CALENDAR | LED LIGHT — Module 593 delivers functions for a daily alarm, chronograph/stopwatch, annual calendar, and hourly chime, with selectable 12 or 24-hour format. The auto-calendar and LED backlight round out a complete, practical feature set in a package that fits any wrist from 145 to 200mm.
  • 7-YEAR BATTERY | MODULE 593 | 18MM LUG WIDTH — Powered by a CR2016 battery with an approximate 7-year life — often lasting 10 or more years in practice. The F-91W has an 18mm lug width, meaning standard 18mm NATO straps fit directly without any modification — making it one of the most customizable and mod-friendly watches available at any price point.
Configuration Movement Case diameter Lug to lug Strap width Current UK list price
Quartz ETA F06.105 35 mm 40 mm 18 mm £450
Manual ETA 7001 35 mm 40 mm 18 mm £990
Automatic La Joux-Perret G101 39 mm 45 mm 20 mm £900

The listed size and strap-width differences are practical selection points: the two 35 mm models use an 18 mm strap, while the 39 mm automatic uses a 20 mm strap. Check the specific listing before ordering a replacement strap.

How to choose between the 35 mm manual and 39 mm automatic

Choose the 35 mm manual for a smaller case and hand-wound movement

The manual Modul is 35 mm across, has a 40 mm lug-to-lug measurement and takes an 18 mm strap. Its ETA 7001 movement is hand-wound. Monochrome Watches reported approximately 45 hours of power reserve at the 2024 launch; that is a launch-era specification, not a current measurement independently established here.

Casio Women's Vintage LA11WB-1 Sport Black Resin Band Watch
  • Sport watch with blue dial border, rectangular dial window, perpetual calendar functions, and alarm feature
  • 26 mm resin case with mineral dial window
  • Quartz movement with digital display
  • Ribbed resin band with buckle closure
  • Water resistant

Choose the 39 mm automatic for a larger case and automatic movement

The automatic is 39 mm across, measures 45 mm lug to lug and takes a 20 mm strap. It uses the La Joux-Perret G101. Monochrome Watches reported a 68-hour power reserve at launch in 2024; that figure is likewise launch-era information.

Consider the quartz option too

The 35 mm quartz version uses the ETA F06.105 and shares the 40 mm lug-to-lug and 18 mm strap width of the manual model. At the current listed UK price of £450, it is the lowest-priced configuration in the catalog, though the quartz movement may not suit someone specifically seeking a mechanical watch.

Crystal, water resistance and other listed specifications

Specifications have changed between launch coverage and the current product pages. Monochrome Watches’ 18 October 2024 article described the collection with Hesalite crystal. Paulin’s current product pages specify a machined sapphire box crystal; the current Modul D automatic page calls it a sapphire box-section lens. These are dated descriptions, not one timeless specification.

Paulin’s current pages list 5 ATM water resistance. The current Modul D automatic page additionally specifies a 316L stainless-steel case, 9.7 mm thickness including the crystal, and a 24-month warranty. Those additional details are stated for that automatic product page and should not be assumed to cover every configuration unless its listing confirms them.

What the launch prices were—and why they differ

At the collection’s 2024 launch, reported in Monochrome Watches’ article dated 18 October 2024, the 35 mm hand-wound model was priced at GBP 825 excluding VAT and GBP 990 including VAT. The 39 mm automatic was GBP 750 excluding VAT and GBP 900 including VAT. Those are historical launch prices. Paulin’s current catalog lists £990 for manual and £900 for automatic, while adding the £450 quartz configuration; check the official listing for the price applicable when you buy.

Product prices and availability are accurate as of the date/time indicated and are subject to change. Any price and availability information displayed on Amazon at the time of purchase will apply.
