Those are historical launch prices—not current offers or estimates of what a used example should cost. The limited edition comprised 200 watches.
What the 2020 Raketa Polar reissue is
Raketa’s reissue revisits a watch the factory says was made in 1970 for polar explorers on the 16th Soviet Antarctic expedition. Its defining feature is a 24-hour display: the hour hand completes one turn per day, a layout intended to help tell the time of day in regions where daylight or darkness can persist for extended periods. Raketa describes the original’s purpose in its history of the brand and its 2020 reissue announcement.
According to Raketa, the original design was approved and signed on 10 December 1969. The factory says it based the reissue on original design material and technical drawings found in its archives, while modifying the case construction to bring it closer to modern quality standards. Raketa identifies Ludmilla Y. Voynik as a member of the Soviet engineering team that developed the 24-hour movement and says she led the limited reissue work.
This is a 2020 limited edition, not the same watch as the current Polar 0300. Its reference is W-09-11-10-0270.

Price: what €1,120 and €1,400 refer to
Raketa-hosted 2020 material gives two launch prices: €1,120 for preorder and €1,400 retail. The figures describe the reissue’s original launch pricing; they do not establish its current availability, a present asking price, or a resale valuation. The specification sheet and Raketa-hosted review are available in the technical specification sheet and the 2020 review.
Because the edition was limited to 200 pieces, anyone considering a pre-owned example should verify the exact reference and assess the particular watch’s condition, completeness, and seller documentation. The launch figures alone cannot establish whether a current listing is fair.

What to check when buying a reissue second-hand
- Confirm the reference is W-09-11-10-0270 rather than the current W-12-19-30-0300.
- Compare the watch with Raketa’s published specification sheet, including the 35 mm case and hand-wound calibre 2623.
- Ask for clear photographs and information about condition, service history, included straps, and any original paperwork or packaging.
- Judge the seller’s asking price against the specific watch and current comparable listings; €1,120 and €1,400 are launch-era figures, not a current market guide.
