Choose the Timex Marlin Automatic if you want a mid-century look, domed acrylic crystal and—on the TW2W93200 bracelet model—a 40 mm case with 50 m water resistance. Choose an Orient Bambino if you prefer domed mineral crystal, hand-winding and hacking, or want to select from different case sizes. These are watch families, not single fixed specifications, so compare exact references before buying.

Which one suits your priorities?
Choose the Marlin for its acrylic crystal and vintage character
The cited TW2W93200 pairs a 40 mm stainless-steel case and bracelet with a domed acrylic crystal. Acrylic is the more period-style material Timex describes and can be polished to remove scuffs, but it is softer and more prone to scratching than mineral crystal. The 50 m rating is also the higher figure among these named examples; follow Timex’s stated limit of light swimming and avoid snorkeling or poolside diving.
Choose the Bambino for mineral crystal and setting functions
The cited Bambino models use domed mineral crystal and movements that support hand-winding and hacking. Hacking stops the seconds hand while you set the time, which can help with precise synchronization. The no-date RA-BB0001E30B is the smaller cited option at 38.4 mm; the Version 2 TAC0000AB0 is 40.5 mm.

How case size and fit differ
The Marlin example sits between the two cited Bambinos by nominal case diameter: 40 mm versus 38.4 mm and 40.5 mm. Diameter is only a starting point for fit. Wrist shape, lug-to-lug length, case thickness, strap or bracelet, and personal preference all affect how a watch wears; the cited specifications do not establish a universal fit verdict. Try the exact model on if you can.
Movement: what winding and hacking mean in practice
All three examples are automatic and list roughly 40 hours of stored running time, though Timex states a maximum and Orient describes its figures as approximate. Timex says of the TW2W93200: “If motionless for more than 40 hours, simply wind it using the crown until you feel resistance, or put it back on and let your movement power it back up.” The two cited Bambinos explicitly support hand-winding and hacking. Do not assume the same feature set for every model in either family.

Water resistance: neither is a dive watch
The cited Marlin TW2W93200 is rated to 50 m, and Timex says light swimming is suitable but snorkeling and poolside diving are not. The cited Bambino references are rated to 30 m. These ratings do not make either watch a dive watch; follow the named manufacturer’s use guidance and check the exact reference rather than generalizing across a product family.
