The latest official US listing captured for TW2Y89900 says “Pre-Order” and displays “Notify Me When Available.” Unless the live page has since changed to an active add-to-cart and checkout flow, the fabric-strap model should be described as available for preorder rather than available for immediate delivery.

Launch coverage on September 3, 2026, described the $279 model as open for preorder and said a US on-sale date had not been announced at that time. A September 5 report said both variants appeared on the US storefront but still characterized the fabric version as preorder. The manufacturer’s live checkout status is the decisive evidence, so verify it immediately before publication or purchase.

- Confirm that the dial is silver-white with navy subdials and that the supplied strap is fabric; this distinguishes it from the bracelet reference.

Timex’s product page supplies the core case, movement, scale and strap information. The domed Hesalite crystal, concave dial and 1960s-inspired styling are details reported in launch coverage. Hesalite is an acrylic-based crystal rather than sapphire, so its appeal is the warm, vintage presentation; it can also show scratches more readily than sapphire.

Does it look like a TAG Heuer Carrera Glassbox?
Visually, yes—but only as a design comparison. Launch coverage describes the curved, tachymeter-framed presentation and domed crystal as reminiscent of the TAG Heuer Carrera Glassbox. The comparison refers to the overall effect of the crystal, dial and scale. It does not establish shared parts, construction, movement, finishing or performance. The Marlin Jet remains a $279 Timex meca-quartz chronograph, not a Carrera specification substitute.
TW2Y89900 versus the bracelet model
Timex also lists reference TW2Y89800, the bracelet version. The useful distinction is the exterior configuration and price, not a documented movement upgrade.

The $309 bracelet price and sage-green color were reported in launch coverage; confirm the live Timex page for current pricing and stock. Notebookcheck reported the bracelet model as directly available while the fabric model was open for preorder at the time of its September 2026 article, but availability can change.

- Choose the fabric model if you want the lighter, more casual 1960s-inspired look and prefer navy subdials against a silver dial.
- Choose the bracelet model if the steel bracelet and sage-green dial are worth the reported $30 premium.
- Wait before ordering if you need immediate shipping, because the official fabric-model page has not established in-stock checkout availability.
The watch’s strongest proposition is visual: a compact 40mm case, domed crystal and tachymeter layout that deliver vintage chronograph character at a relatively accessible listed price. Its key uncertainty is timing, not the specification sheet. Until Timex changes the US page from preorder to an orderable listing, “finally available” overstates what the listing confirms.
