It is not the same watch as the 2026-returned Northflag: Tudor’s current model uses a GMT movement, has a shorter stated reserve and omits the original’s power-reserve indicator. That distinction matters whether you are comparing designs or looking for the original on the secondary market.
Which North Flag does this review cover?
This review focuses on the original North Flag launched in 2015, commonly identified by reference 91210N. Tudor brought back the Northflag name in 2026 for a distinct GMT model. The new watch is useful context, but its movement, display and dimensions should not be attributed to the original.

The difference is more than a name change: the original makes its reserve visible on the dial, while the returned version uses that space for travel-time information.
How does the original MT5621 movement shape the watch?
Hodinkee’s 2015 coverage characterized the MT5621 as Tudor’s first in-house movement. It reported COSC certification, a silicon balance spring, a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour and approximately 70 hours of power reserve. The long reserve means the watch can sit off the wrist over a weekend and still be running when picked up, although actual running time depends on the watch’s state of wind and use.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
The power-reserve indicator turns that specification into part of the watch’s character. It gives the dial an instrument-like purpose and makes the movement’s autonomy readable without setting the watch down or consulting a spec sheet. A date display adds everyday utility, while the display caseback reveals the MT5621 and reinforces the technical, rather than purely ornamental, presentation. Specialist coverage describes the exposed movement finishing in functional, technical terms.
That combination is the original’s strongest reason to choose it over the returned model: the appeal is not simply a historic calibre, but a specific dial-and-movement concept that the GMT version does not retain.

What makes the original North Flag’s design distinctive?
The original pairs an angular, instrument-like steel case with a black dial, yellow accents, date and prominent power-reserve display. Its integrated bracelet flows directly from the case, giving the watch a cohesive silhouette rather than the interchangeable look of a conventional lug-and-strap design. The display back makes the movement part of the design story even when the watch is off the wrist.

The yellow details provide contrast, while the reserve indicator gives the dial an unusual focal point. That makes the North Flag more distinctive than a simple three-hand steel watch, but also more specific in taste: buyers who prefer a clean dial may find its information-rich face busy.

How thick does the North Flag wear, and what wrist size can wear it?
The original measures 13.3 mm thick and 50 mm lug-to-lug in Hodinkee’s 2026 comparison. The returned model is slimmer and shorter at 12.7 mm thick and 48.8 mm lug-to-lug, though both are listed as 40 mm in diameter. The original’s measurements help explain why it can feel substantial despite its moderate diameter; its integrated-bracelet geometry also makes conventional diameter rules an incomplete fit guide.
Direct fit observations in the same recent hands-on review concern the returned Northflag, not a guarantee about every wrist or the original. The reviewer found the 40 mm returned watch comfortable on a 7.5-inch wrist, while two colleagues with wrists around 6.5 inches found it expansive. Wrist shape, bracelet sizing and personal preference all affect how an integrated design sits. If you are considering either version, try it on in person where possible rather than treating a wrist measurement as a fit cutoff.

Is the original worth seeking out?
Seek the original if the MT5621, visible reserve display and distinctive dial are the main attractions. Choose the returned Northflag if GMT functionality, the current METAS-certified movement and T-fit clasp matter more. Tudor’s current page lists the new model at US $5,525; that is a time-sensitive US price for the returned generation, not a valuation or comparison price for an original 91210N.
The original was discontinued after six years without updates, according to Hodinkee’s recent coverage. Its current availability is therefore a secondary-market question; the return of the Northflag name does not establish that original examples are new, plentiful or available from any particular seller. Check each listing for reference 91210N, generation, condition, seller and location, and verify current stock directly. No reliable current used-market price or condition baseline is established here.
