The right choice depends on the exact references you are considering, how you want to use the bezel, and how each configuration fits your wrist.
What sets the FXD and Seamaster apart?
Tudor describes the Pelagos FXD as designed for underwater navigation and optimized for professional use. The cited FXD has a 42 mm titanium case with strap bars machined into the case, rather than removable spring bars. Its bezel is bidirectional and designed around a countdown scale.

The Seamaster Diver 300M is a collection, not one fixed specification. Omega’s 21 November 2024 announcement covered a 42 mm range with mesh-bracelet and rubber-strap versions powered by calibre 8806. Omega has since announced further material and color variants, so the collection name alone does not identify a particular case material, movement, or bracelet.

How do the bezels differ?
Pelagos FXD: a bidirectional countdown bezel
The FXD uses a 120-notch bidirectional bezel graduated from 60 down to 0. A countdown scale lets the wearer align the remaining-time marker with the minute hand and track time toward a planned point. Tudor says this design serves underwater navigation and does not correspond to the ISO 6425:2018 standard design for divers’ watches. That is a difference in intended function, not a universal judgment about which watch is better.
#1 Best Overall
- Featuring a Blue Band, Black Case, Scratch Resistant Sapphire Crystal
- Display Type: Analog
- Item Shape: Round
Tudor says the FXD was developed with French Navy combat swimmers. That context may matter to someone who wants this specific navigation-oriented design, but it does not mean every owner needs professional diving features.
Seamaster Diver 300M: check the exact configuration
The Seamaster Diver 300M has its own diver-watch feature set, but the available material does not establish the precise bezel specification for every version in the collection. Compare the bezel on the exact reference you plan to buy rather than assuming that every Diver 300M has identical details. If you prefer a countdown bezel, check whether the FXD’s bidirectional scale matches your intended use; if you want a conventional elapsed-time diver bezel, verify that feature on the specific Seamaster reference.
Reference-level specifications: water resistance and power reserve
Figures below come from an independent comparison of named versions. They are not universal specifications for either product family; confirm the current official specifications for the references you are comparing.

- Tudor Pelagos FXD Chronograph Cycling Automatic Black Dial Men's M25827KN-0001
| Specification | Pelagos FXD | Seamaster Diver 300M |
|---|---|---|
| Water resistance | 200 m for the FXD reference in the independent comparison | 300 m for the Seamaster reference in the same comparison |
| Power reserve | 70 hours for the FXD reference in the independent comparison | 55 hours for the Seamaster reference in the same comparison |
| Movement identification | The comparison’s reserve figure applies to its named FXD reference; check the exact model’s official page for movement details. | Calibre 8806 was specified for the 42 mm models in Omega’s 21 November 2024 announcement; later variants may differ. |
These numbers describe the compared references, not every Pelagos FXD or Seamaster Diver 300M. A family-level comparison can mislead if it mixes different years, materials, or movements.
Materials, straps, and fit
Case material and wearing feel
Tudor lists titanium for the cited FXD model. The Seamaster Diver 300M range includes stainless-steel models as well as specific titanium variants. Material affects appearance and can influence expected weight, but it does not prove which watch will feel more comfortable on a particular wrist. Try on the exact case and strap or bracelet combination if possible.
Fixed bars change strap options
The FXD’s strap bars are part of the case, so the attachment differs from a watch with removable spring bars. Tudor describes fabric and additional rubber straps for the model; the fixed-bar construction means you should confirm that any replacement strap is specifically compatible with the case and its dimensions. Do not assume a standard two-piece strap will fit.

- Tudor Pelagos Chronometer Black Dial Titanium Men's Watch M25600TN-0001
Omega’s 2024 42 mm range included mesh-bracelet and rubber-strap configurations. Check what is supplied with the precise Seamaster reference: strap or bracelet choice changes the look and wearing experience, and the product-family name does not specify the included option.
Which one should you choose?
Choose the Pelagos FXD if…
- You want the fixed-bar construction and are comfortable with its more constrained strap compatibility.
- You prefer a bidirectional countdown bezel for navigation-style timing.
- You value the cited model’s titanium case and the French Navy combat-swimmer context behind its design.
Choose a Seamaster Diver 300M if…
- You want to choose among a broader range of materials, colors, and strap or bracelet configurations.
- You prefer the specific bezel and styling of the Seamaster reference you have inspected.
- You want to compare the exact model’s official water-resistance and movement specifications against your needs.
Use the exact reference and your wrist as the deciding test
Compare like with like: identify each reference, case material, supplied strap or bracelet, and official specification before deciding. Then try the precise configurations on your wrist. There is no controlled comfort comparison established here, so case material or dimensions alone cannot settle which one will wear better for you.
What should you expect to pay?
A current, geographically relevant price comparison is not established here. Prices vary by country, reference, material, and supplied strap or bracelet, and dated search-result figures should not be treated as current. When comparing listings, use the same country and currency and match condition and configuration—for example, new against new and comparable bracelet or strap options.
