The G-Shock GMC-2500 is not officially released yet. Reports based on a briefly visible Casio Japan listing point to an expected November 2026 launch for a new, fully analog 2500 family. The metal-covered GMC-2500 is the model nicknamed “CasioNaut” by enthusiasts because of its rounded, eared case; “CasioNaut” is not Casio’s product name. A video claiming the first YouTube hands-on may show an early sample or leaked information, but its upload priority, physical possession and Casio authorization have not been independently established.
When is the G-Shock GMC-2500 coming out?
The best-supported timing is November 2026. G-Central reported on September 7, 2026 that nine GAC-2500 and GMC-2500 references had briefly appeared on Casio Japan. Wrist Culture repeated the details on September 17 and noted that Casio had not officially confirmed the watches at that time. The listing was subsequently removed, so November is an expected window rather than a guaranteed release date.

Is the CasioNaut analog or digital?
The reported GMC-2500 is fully analog. It has no digital window in the descriptions available so far. A small 0–60 subdial displays seconds, while the date display also serves as a mode indicator. The stopwatch is reported to measure in one-second increments for up to 30 minutes.
The case combines a rounded profile and protruding “ears” with an octagonal bezel. Those shapes prompted the community’s “Nautilus-like” nickname, while the G-SHOCK name and design references associated with the 5000/5600 family remain visible. That makes it an interpretation of G-SHOCK styling rather than an official Nautilus collaboration or designation.

Reported functions and battery behavior
Second-hand sleep
A “second hand sleep” setting can park the seconds hand at the 30-second position. G-Central reports Casio’s estimate that enabling it can extend battery life to approximately five years instead of the usual two years. Without the feature, the reported estimate is about two years with one 1.5-second light use per day.

Hand clearance and correction
- Hand-shift: moves the hands away from indicators so the date or mode display can be read.
- Hand and Day Indicator Alignment: lets the wearer correct hand or date misalignment after magnetism or a hard impact.
- Illumination: an LED light is reported to remain on for about 1.5 seconds.
- Battery: one CR1025 cell is listed in the reported specifications.
“Magnetic hands” therefore refers to a correction requirement, not a special magnetic hand system. The alignment function is intended to restore the display if magnetism or shock causes the hands and indicators to lose synchronization.

GAC-2500 vs GMC-2500 vs GMC-2500D
Choose the GAC-2500 for minimum weight
At a reported 47 g, the resin GAC-2500 is the lightest option and the least expensive in the Japanese listing. Its full-resin construction and four reported colors make it the straightforward everyday version.
Choose the GMC-2500 for metal styling without a steel bracelet
The standard GMC-2500 adds a stainless-steel bezel but keeps a resin band, raising the reported weight to 68 g and Japanese MSRP to ¥37,400. The gold ion-plated version is listed at ¥39,600.
Rank #4
- Band Size: Mens-Standard
- Shock Resistant
- Auto LED Light with Afterglow
- Magnetic Resistant
Choose the GMC-2500D for the heaviest bracelet configuration
The GMC-2500D combines the metal bezel with a stainless-steel bracelet. Its reported 138 g weight is nearly three times that of the GAC-2500, and its ¥49,500 Japanese MSRP is the highest of the three. Black- and blue-dial versions were reported.

Where can you buy the GMC-2500?
There is no confirmed retail availability while the model remains unreleased. An exact-model retailer or marketplace search can be used as an availability check, but listings appearing before an official launch should be treated cautiously. Wait for a Casio or authorized retailer product page to verify the reference, warranty, color and regional compatibility. Generic G-SHOCK strap compatibility has not been established, so do not assume replacement bands fit the GMC-2500.
What the “first on YouTube” claim does—and does not—prove
The headline’s “first on YouTube” wording is a creator claim. Available reporting supports a pre-release leak or hands-on discussion, but it does not verify that the video was the first upload, that the creator had a production watch, or that Casio authorized access. Until an official announcement appears, the GMC-2500 should be described as leaked, unreleased or expected—not as a watch already available to buy.
