Vsauce’s Death Clock is a real physical product associated with Michael Stevens and sold through Inqfactory—but it is a tabletop clock, not a wearable wristwatch. It shows the ordinary time or a countdown based on a statistical estimate of remaining lifespan. It does not know an individual’s true death date, provide a medical prognosis, or monitor the body like a smartwatch.
The clock was listed at $79.90 USD, plus shipping calculated at checkout. It remains a pre-order, and the manufacturer’s latest accessible guidance says it hopes to ship orders by the end of 2026. That is a target rather than a guaranteed delivery date, and the official product page has also shown unavailable or sold-out variant language.

What is the Vsauce Death Clock?
The Death Clock by Inqfactory is a compact, retro-styled desk clock built around a deliberately unsettling idea: alongside conventional time, it can display an estimate of how much time the user has left to live.

- Sleek, User-Friendly Design:Designed with simplicity in mind: a single top button controls brightness, while the clean, modern look complements any decor—from minimalist living rooms to industrial-style home gyms. Its intuitive interface works for all ages.
The design is explicitly memento mori—a reminder of mortality. Product material also features the Latin inscription “OMNES VULNERANT, ULTIMA NECAT,” commonly translated as “All wound, the last kills.”
The object is associated with Vsauce creator Michael Stevens and was promoted in the context of the Vsauce video All the Ghosts You Will Be, which explores mortality, memory, digital legacy and being forgotten. That context matters: this is as much a philosophical conversation piece as it is a clock.
Is it really a watch?
No. Despite headlines calling it “the watch that tells you when you’ll die,” the product is presented by Inqfactory as a stationary desktop clock.
- It is not documented as a wrist-worn device.
- There is no verified indication that it tracks heart rate, activity, sleep or other biometric data.
- There is no confirmed smartwatch integration, notification system or fitness ecosystem.
That distinction is important. Someone shopping for an Apple Watch, Oura Ring or WHOOP-style health wearable should not treat the Death Clock as an alternative. Its purpose is a visible mortality reminder, not continuous health monitoring.
How does the lifetime countdown work?
Available descriptions say the estimate uses personal information such as age, occupation, lifestyle and other relevant factors. The product pages do not establish that the clock can detect an imminent medical event or independently measure a person’s physical condition.

- Large Display Electric Alarm Clock with Brightness Dimmer: Corded plug in clock with compact streamline design yet large number display. 2 inches jumbo illuminated LED digits ensure the time is easy to see even for impaired vision people. The brightness dimmer allows you set the brightness of display, needless worry the brightness, either too bright thus affecting your sleep or too dark to read time.
- Adjustable Alarm Sound: Single alarm setting with 9 minutes snooze. The beep alarm sound can be set from 30-90 DP as preference. Needless worry about too loud alarm sound frightening you or too low to wake you up from deep sleeping. One simple ON/OFF button allows you disable the alarm on weekend.
- USB Charging Port: Convenient USB port allows you to charge your smartphone or other electric device without plug in wall, handy, convenient and organized.
- Easy Operation Alarm Clock: Intuitive setting button, experience zero stress when setting the time or alarm. Easy for kids, seniors and the elderly.
- Adapter Powered Only and Battery for Memory: Plug in to power the clock with the included DC adapter (with 59 inches USB cord). 2 x AAA batteries (not included) needed for storing time and alarm settings in case of power outage. With battery power source only, the screen will go blank and alarm will not sound.
The most accurate way to understand the display is as a statistical projection. Life expectancy is calculated from patterns observed across populations. It is not a fixed timetable for one individual. A population-level estimate cannot account for every accident, acute illness, suicide, homicide, disaster, newly emerging disease or other unpredictable event.
That means the clock is not a physician, diagnostic test, actuarial assessment or substitute for medical advice. It cannot tell you that you will die on a particular date, and the available material does not establish that its model is clinically validated or scientifically accurate for individual prediction.

A countdown may also change if the user’s information, assumptions or calculation changes. Such a change would not prove that the device has measured the future—or that a lifestyle choice has added a precise number of seconds to a person’s life. It would reflect a revised estimate.
Price, availability and shipping
The official Inqfactory product listing has shown a price of $79.90 USD. Shipping is calculated separately at checkout, so the displayed price is not necessarily the final delivered cost. Taxes, destination coverage, currency conversion and variant pricing may also affect the total.
The product is described as a pre-order. A support response dated February 19, 2026 said the company hoped to ship pre-orders by the end of 2026. “Hoped to ship” is not the same as a firm release date or guaranteed delivery date.

Before paying, buyers should confirm all of the following on the live checkout page:
- Whether the selected case or material variant is actually available.
- The complete price, including shipping and taxes.
- The latest estimated fulfilment date.
- The seller’s cancellation and refund terms.
- Whether the seller ships to the buyer’s country.
The indexed product page has included both pre-order wording and “sold out” or unavailable variant language. Availability can change, so readers should not assume that a previously advertised pre-order is still open for every edition.
Is the Death Clock a scam?
The available evidence supports calling it a real announced product: it is listed through an identifiable Inqfactory storefront and has official product information and support material. But several different questions are often collapsed into the word “scam.”
| Question | What the available evidence indicates |
|---|---|
| Does the product listing exist? | Yes. Inqfactory presents the Death Clock as a physical product. |
| Has every buyer received one? | That cannot be inferred from a product listing. It remains a pre-order. |
| Will it arrive by a fixed date? | No fixed guaranteed date is established; the stated aim is by the end of 2026. |
| Does it accurately predict death? | No. It provides a statistical estimate, not a certain individual prediction. |
| Are all variants available? | Not necessarily. The current indexed listing includes unavailable or sold-out language. |
In practical terms, the main buyer risk is delayed or uncertain fulfilment, not evidence that the object does not exist. The scientific risk is misunderstanding an inherently uncertain estimate as a fact.
Why did Vsauce make it?
The Death Clock fits Vsauce’s long-running interest in questions about consciousness, time, identity and mortality. In the launch context surrounding All the Ghosts You Will Be, the idea extends beyond a gadget that displays a number. It turns an abstract thought—time is finite—into a physical object placed on a desk.

- Digital alarm clock with a 0.7-inch green LED display for easily checking the time at a glance
- Built-in nightlight gently illuminates a dark room
- Repeating snooze function makes it possible to sleep a little longer
- AC powered with integrated power supply. Batteries may be used as a backup power source to ensure time and alarms are retained in memory for 8 hours (refer to User Manual for details)
- Measures 4.5 x 3.5 x 2.4 inches (LxWxH); weighs 0.4 pounds (6.6 oz) Note: Batteries are not included
That can make the clock meaningful to fans who want a collector’s item or a daily prompt to use time intentionally. It can also make it a poor choice for anyone who tends to repeatedly check health metrics, seek certainty about death or experience significant health anxiety.
Do not confuse it with the Death Clock health app
A separate product called Death Clock: The Life Lab is offered by Most Days. It is not the Vsauce/Inqfactory physical clock.
| Feature | Vsauce/Inqfactory Death Clock | Most Days Death Clock app |
|---|---|---|
| Format | Physical tabletop clock | Mobile health and longevity app |
| Main purpose | Mortality reminder and statistical countdown object | Life-expectancy estimate, health tracking and longevity recommendations |
| Brand relationship | Associated with Vsauce and Inqfactory | Most Days |
| Wearable integrations | Not verified for the physical clock | The app listing references Apple Health, WHOOP and Oura integrations |
| Bloodwork services | Not established for the physical clock | Promoted by Most Days, subject to eligibility and location |
| Purchase route | Inqfactory | Most Days and app stores |
The app involves health information and potentially recurring paid services. Readers should not assume that claims, pricing or privacy terms for the app apply to the physical clock. Conversely, the physical clock should not be described as AI-powered or as offering bloodwork-based recommendations unless Inqfactory specifically documents those features.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Privacy questions buyers should ask
The product descriptions establish that personal inputs are involved, but the available material does not fully explain the data architecture. Before ordering, buyers should seek clear answers to these questions:
- What information must be entered?
- Is the calculation performed on the clock, through a website or through an account?
- Does the clock require an internet connection?
- Is personal information stored by Inqfactory or a third party?
- Can the estimate be reset?
- Can the clock be used without entering sensitive information?
- How can a user delete their data?
These are especially important because age, lifestyle and health-related information can be sensitive. If the seller’s privacy, deletion and account policies are unclear, that should be treated as a material reason to wait rather than filling in the gaps with assumptions.

Should you pre-order the Death Clock?
Buy it only if you want a symbolic novelty or collector’s desk object and are comfortable with pre-order uncertainty. The product may appeal to Vsauce fans, retrofuturist design enthusiasts and people who genuinely enjoy memento mori objects.
Do not buy it if you want a wearable, a health monitor, an accurate prognosis or guaranteed near-term delivery. The clock does not provide those things.
Wait if the checkout page shows your preferred variant as unavailable, or if you cannot confirm cancellation, refund, privacy and shipping terms.
Also consider the emotional effect. If a countdown could trigger anxiety, obsessive checking or distress, the most sensible decision may be not to use one—or to stop using it if those reactions begin. It should never drive medical, financial, insurance or end-of-life decisions.
The bottom line
Vsauce’s Death Clock is a real, unusual tabletop product, but its dramatic name should not be mistaken for supernatural or medical knowledge. It displays a statistical estimate in a retro desk-clock format. At $79.90 before shipping, it is best understood as a philosophical conversation piece with pre-order and privacy questions—not as a watch, fitness tracker or reliable countdown to an individual death.
