Xetum’s documented watches pair restrained, modern styling with Swiss-made automatic movements, but the most detailed independent evidence is historical: a 2010 hands-on review of one Tyndall configuration and a 2009 launch report. That evidence helps explain the brand’s design and how particular models were built; it does not establish today’s prices, stock, full catalogue, or service arrangements.
What is Xetum?
Xetum is a watch brand whose launch coverage described its watches as California-designed and Swiss-made. The company’s design page says it aims for a clean, modern aesthetic with subtle distinction, drawing on Bauhaus and Mid-Century Modern architecture, and for watches that feel substantial without being oversized. These are the brand’s stated intentions, not independent findings about every model.
In a December 2009 launch report, Europa Star identified Tyndall and Stinson as the initial families, named for California landmarks. It described the Tyndall as an instrument-style design with small seconds and a 24-hour indicator, and the Stinson as a more minimal dial with central seconds. Xetum’s official site navigation also surfaces a Lyell collection, but the available evidence does not establish that those three names represent the complete current range.
Europa Star identified Jeffrey Kuo as Xetum’s founder and quoted him in December 2009: “I’ve been looking for the right mix of these features for years, but there has always been something missing, whether it was the watch being oversized or too expensive, or just not looking right.” Kuo also said, “In recent years, many watches have become big, gaudy and flamboyant, and Xetum is trying to offer a nuanced alternative to these trends.” These remarks explain the launch-era positioning; they should not be read as current corporate guidance.

What does the documented Tyndall review show?
The most detailed independent example is WatchReport’s hands-on review, published March 24, 2010. Its specifications and observations apply to the particular Tyndall sample reviewed, not automatically to later versions or every Tyndall reference.

The 2009 Europa Star launch report separately listed the Tyndall movement as an ETA 2895-2 in Elabore grade, and gave the Stinson an ETA 2824-2. It also described Swiss production in the Jura Valley, 316L steel, and sapphire crystals. These are launch-era descriptions; movement naming and specifications may differ from the later reviewed Tyndall configuration.

WatchReport’s reviewer found the sample’s timing within two seconds per day during their own experience. That is one reviewer’s historical observation, not a laboratory result, a stated accuracy standard, or a guarantee for other watches. The reviewer also praised its finishing and described the design as versatile between business dress and weekend casual, noting the unusual dial and hidden-lug case. Xetum loaned the sample, as disclosed in the review.
How do the Tyndall and Stinson differ?
The available comparison is limited to the launch-era descriptions and one later Tyndall review. It is useful for understanding their intended character, not for assuming that current production matches those early specifications.

The dial descriptions suggest a straightforward choice: the Tyndall’s instrument-like layout is the more information-forward option, while the launch-era Stinson description points to a simpler presentation. Whether that distinction suits your taste is a matter of preference; the evidence here does not support a current model-by-model verdict on wear, finishing, or value.
What should a buyer verify before ordering?
Current model, specifications, and price
The available commercial references are not reliable current quotes. A Stinson brown-dial product page appeared with a $950 price and “In stock” label in a crawl about 1.3 years old, and its footer says © Xetum 2014. Europa Star’s launch-era range of $995–$1,395 and WatchReport’s 2010 cited prices of $1,395 for the Tyndall and $995 for the Stinson are historical nominal amounts. None establishes present pricing or availability.

Check directly with Xetum for the exact reference’s current movement, dimensions, water resistance, stock, price, warranty, and delivery terms before committing. The official delivery and returns page describes a 30-day return window with original packaging and materials, a watch in new condition, and customer-paid return shipping, but that page is old. Confirm the current policy and any destination-specific duties or taxes rather than relying on those terms.
Strap fit
Xetum’s FAQ says its straps attach with a 20 mm spring bar and that a compatible third-party strap may be used. That supports looking for a 20 mm watch strap, but width alone does not guarantee fit: confirm the lug width and strap-end shape for your exact watch before ordering.

The 2010 Tyndall review supplies useful detail on one 40 mm, 100 m automatic example, but the age and model-specific nature of the evidence matter. Treat those specifications as historical reference points, then confirm the exact watch and today’s commercial and ownership terms with Xetum before buying.
