The Zelos Blacktip 200m makes a credible value case on its listed specifications: the steel diver is priced at $499 and pairs a 200 m water-resistance rating with a sapphire crystal, a Miyota 9015 automatic movement and a steel bracelet. But it is a family of watches, not one fixed model, and Zelos showed all 15 variants in its collection as sold out when checked. Its specifications merit a place on a value-minded buyer’s shortlist; they do not prove it is objectively one of the best divers available.
What is the Zelos Blacktip 200m?
The Blacktip is Zelos’s modern interpretation of the 1960s “skin diver” style, according to the brand. The official collection includes steel and titanium dive watches as well as GMT versions, with listed prices from $499 to $649. The case material, movement, thickness and added GMT function vary by version, so check the specification for the exact variant rather than treating “Blacktip 200m” as a single configuration. Zelos’s Blacktip collection shows the range and its listed specifications.
Is the Zelos Blacktip worth the price?
The $499 steel Desert Sand diver combines a 41 mm case, 200 m water resistance, sapphire crystal, Miyota 9015 automatic movement and 316L steel bracelet with a quick-adjust clasp. Those are substantial published specifications for the listed price. The listing gives a 47.5 mm lug-to-lug measurement and 20 mm lug width, useful details for judging fit and strap options. The price and specifications are from the official Desert Sand product page.
That supports calling the Blacktip a contender for value-minded buyers, not a proven “best-value” winner. The available sources do not provide a controlled comparison or ranking against competing divers. Your judgment should also account for whether the case suits your wrist, which movement and materials you prefer, and whether the exact watch is available at the listed price.

An independent review of a limited-edition forged-carbon Blacktip reports a purchase price of around $500 and measures that specific watch at 41 mm across, 47 mm lug-to-lug, 12.25 mm tall and 20 mm between the lugs. The reviewer praises the bracelet for the price but criticizes the finish of some bezel markings. These are one reviewer’s observations about one variant, not a finding about every Blacktip. How do the steel diver and GMT differ?
The most useful comparison is between the standard steel diver and the steel GMT. Both are listed with 41 mm cases, 47.5 mm lug-to-lug measurements, 20 mm lug widths and 200 m water resistance. The GMT adds a second time-zone function and uses a different movement; it is also thicker.

- DIVER-INSPIRED DESIGN — Inspired by the sea, the MDV-106G is styled after classic dive watches and delivers 200-meter water resistance at an unbeatable price point. The black resin band and stainless steel case give it a classic look, while the anti-reverse rotary bezel adds authentic dive-watch character.
- STAINLESS STEEL CASE WITH SCREW-LOCK CROWN & CASEBACK — The MDV-106G features a stainless steel case and a reliable screw-lock crown for enhanced water resistance protection. Screw-down crown and screw-lock caseback work together to keep the movement sealed and secure during water activities — a construction standard found on dive watches far above this price range.
- LARGE FLUORESCENT HANDS & INDICES FOR INSTANT READABILITY — The dial features hands and hour indices with large fluorescent areas for easy reading in low-light and underwater conditions. The clean 3-hand analog layout with date display at 3 o'clock keeps the dial uncluttered and immediately legible at a glance.
- 44MM STAINLESS STEEL CASE | 22MM LUG WIDTH | MINERAL GLASS — The case measures 44mm in diameter, 12mm in height, with a 49mm lug-to-lug length and a standard 22mm lug width — making strap upgrades effortless with a vast range of aftermarket options. Mineral glass protects the dial from everyday scratches and impacts.
- 3-YEAR BATTERY & 200M WATER RESISTANCE — Powered by an SR626SW battery with an approximate 3-year life, the case measures 49.5 × 46.3 × 12.1mm and weighs 92 grams. At 200 meters of water resistance, the Duro is versatile and suitable for all situations — whether in the water, hiking, running, or at the office.
| Variant | Listed price | Movement | Thickness | Other stated details |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Steel Desert Sand diver | $499 USD | Miyota 9015 automatic | 11.5 mm without crystal | 316L steel bracelet with quick-adjust clasp; sapphire crystal |
| Steel GMT MOP | $549 USD | Seiko NH34 GMT | 13 mm | Domed sapphire crystal with inner AR coating; 316L bracelet with updated quick-adjust clasp and female end links |
The GMT’s $50 higher listed price buys the GMT function and a different movement, along with the thicker case. Its official listing specifies a mother-of-pearl dial. Compare the Blacktip GMT MOP product page with the standard diver listing before choosing.
What changes with the titanium versions?
Zelos’s collection lists titanium examples at $599 and $649. The cited Ti Coal Black specification uses hardened titanium and lists a 41 mm diameter, 47.5 mm lug-to-lug, 20 mm lug width, 12 mm thickness without crystal, Miyota 9015 movement and 200 m water resistance. The collection price range covers multiple versions; do not assume every titanium model has the same dial or price. Check the current collection listing for the specific configuration.

Can you buy one now, and what are the terms?
When checked, Zelos’s collection page showed all 15 listed Blacktip variants as out of stock. Stock can change, so verify the specific model on the official collection page rather than relying on the snapshot or assuming the listed price means it can be ordered.
The Desert Sand product page states free shipping by FedEx or DHL at Zelos’s discretion, with customs, taxes or VAT paid by the buyer; it says US shipping will not incur extra duties or tariffs. It also states a seven-day return period from receipt for brand-new, unworn watches, with return shipping paid by the buyer, and a one-year international warranty covering manufacturing or movement defects under normal use. These are the page’s stated terms; reconfirm them for your destination and purchase date. See the Desert Sand listing and terms.

What should you compare before choosing a Blacktip?
- Fit: Compare the 41 mm diameter and 47.5 mm lug-to-lug with a watch you already find comfortable; case shape and wrist shape affect how dimensions wear.
- Function and movement: Choose between the Miyota 9015 diver and the Seiko NH34 GMT if you want a second time-zone display.
- Thickness and materials: The listed steel diver is 11.5 mm thick without crystal, the steel GMT is 13 mm, and the cited titanium diver is 12 mm without crystal. Consider those measurements alongside steel versus titanium and the specific dial and bezel.
- Full cost and terms: Check stock, destination-specific import costs, shipping and the applicable return and warranty terms before ordering.
The independent lug²lug specification reference is another place to cross-check the Desert Sand dimensions and listed price, while the official listing should govern current availability and purchase terms.
